Dolby Atmos content expands on Sky Q and Sky Store
Although Sky hasn’t been publicising it – which is strange, in itself – they have been busy adding Dolby Atmos sound mixes to some of the on-demand content on Sky Q and in the Sky Store.
Sky had already been using the Dolby Digital+ flavour Atmos on broadcast content, including some Premier League Games, but this move, if made more widespread, will give the Sky Q movies on demand service a leg-up in the face of competition from Apple who offer Ultra HD, HD and Dolby Vision streaming via the Apple TV 4K.

Our Forum members began noticing the Dolby Atmos tags pre Christmas 2017, although some of the Atmos tagged content didn’t actually play with the object based audio format, but it seems Sky is now making more of a move in earnest.

According to Forum members, these are some of the Atmos enabled title currently available.

    Spider-Man 1 and 2
    10 Cloverfield Lane
    Transformers: The Last Knight
    Star Trek Beyond
    Jack Reacher 2
    xXx 3
    13 Hours
    TMNT 2
    Ghost in the Shell

Provided you have an Atmos capable receiver or soundbar this is how you enable it:

    1. Head to Settings > Setup > Audio Visual on your Sky Q box
    2. Select Digital Audio Output HDMI and set to Dolby Digital Plus
