Crystal Acoustics launch WiSound Mulitroom Range
Any source to any speaker
Crystal Acoustics are the latest manufacturer to jump on the multiroom bandwagon and they will be showing off their WiSound range of products in Berlin today.
The range comprises a series of wireless speakers and complementary devices that offer a uniquely flexible and easy-to-use way of organising a multi-zone music network. The system has been designed to suit the specific needs of each individual consumer with a flexibility, they claim, that no rival in the market offers.
The unique collection of features in the Crystal Acoustics WiSound Multiroom system includes:
1. Play ‘any source to any speaker’: as well as using Wi-Fi to connect the source device to the speaker, unlike rival products the Crystal Acoustics system can take audio from a wireless Bluetooth or USB source and re-transmit it over the network using Wi-Fi.
2. Use Widaptor to incorporate any pre-existing audio kit you want to keep into your smart wireless music network: is there a room in your home with old audio kit that you want to keep? Just plug Widaptor into the old kit, and your old system instantly becomes a zone in your Crystal Acoustics multi-room music network, completely controllable from the app.
3. Instantly put speakers on the network into groups, or stereo pairs, sending any source to any speaker using the easy-to-use WiSound app: the app interface allows instant arrangement of speakers into room groups or stereo pairs as you wish.
4. Select your speakers for each room of the network from Crystal Acoustics’ selection of products – from a TV soundbase to high-end stereo monitors.
The full range includes the Cuby 9 standalone wireless speaker, the Teevy 6 MR soundbase, Teevy Bar soundbar, WiSub subwoofer, the Tower 5 and Tower 6 floorstanding stereo speakers, and the Monitor 1 and Monitor 8 stereo speakers. It also includes the Widaptor, a small Wi-Fi transmitter/receiver that can be attached to any pre-existing audio setup.
In addition, all of the Crystal Acoustics Wireless Multiroom speakers use the company’s unique WiSound technology, a proprietary tech utilising multiple drivers and processing to employ the acoustic reflections in each room to ensure the speaker delivers exactly the same tonal balance no matter where the listener is in relation to it, i.e. it eliminates the ‘sweet spot.’
