CES 2014: LG Jumps Into Fitness Tech

Lifeband Touch and LG Heart Rate Earphones take the stage in Las Vegas

  • LG took the wraps off the LG Lifeband Touch and LG Heart Rate Earphones, two wearable products that mark the company's first foray into fitness tech.
    Unveiled on stage at CES 2104, both products incorporate ‘comfy’ designs and compatibility with other devices that monitoring your fitness.

    Lifeband Touch is a smart activity tracker and is compatible with heart rate monitors (HRM) as well as smartphones. The Heart Rate Earphones' unique 0 that we know of - dual-function design offers another way for users to measure their heart rate while exercising.

    The Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Earphones can also wirelessly link up to each other, creating what LG calls a ‘seamless wearable ecosystem.’ They will also connect to Android and iOS smartphones.

    The devices will also interact with a number of other third party apps including MyFitnessPal, Runkeeper or MapMyFitness.

    The Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Earphones will be available starting in the United States in the first half of 2014, to be followed by rollouts in other markets
