Despite the absence of his regular leading man - Ryan Gosling - it looks like Nicholas Winding Refn is putting together quite a cast for his latest film The Neon Demon.
None other than Neo himself has joined the fun and that's good news given what an interesting streak Keanu Reeves is currently on. He directed himself in The Man of Tai Chi and is about to appear in John Wick, Eli Roth's Knock Knock and Tarsem Singh's The Panopticon.
Joining him will be Christina Hendricks, who also appeared in Refn's Drive, along with Elle Fanning (Maleficent), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Jena Malone (Inherent Vice).
The film centres on an aspiring model (Fanning), who finds herself in a terrifying predicament with her survival hanging in the balance. Lee plays a queen bee who metaphorically and, hopefully, literally sucks the life out of her social circle.
Whilst Refn dropped the ball slightly on Only God Forgives, he remains an interesting filmmaker and you have to wonder what he'll do with vampires - metaphorical or otherwise.
The Neon Demon is due next year.
