Cambridge Audio’s EDGE NQ and CXN (V2) network audio players will now have support for Roon’s high-resolution streaming and music management technology built-in thanks to a software update.
In order to make sure that its customers have all the choice they need for listening to and organising their music collections, Cambridge Audio’s EDGE NQ and CXN (V2) network players will now be Roon Ready, which expands upon the options already afforded by these network audio streamers.
A software download is now available and once updated, both the network players will be visible to Roon so that it can deliver the highest possible quality audio, and even allow volume control right from the Roon user interface.
The Roon Ready certification means the EDGE NQ and CXN (V2) network audio streamers now discover and connect to Roon without any additional configuration meaning the listener can start enjoying their music even more quickly.
Cambridge Audio EDGE NQ
This flagship streamer offers new levels of versatility for a pre-amplifier and network player. StreamMagic, the streaming module that powers NQ, has been improved, allowing Edge to play music from virtually any source. Also, Edge NQ’s printed circuit board and meticulous engineering reduce interference to ensure a clean sound.
Cambridge Audio CXN (V2)
With the CXN (V2) network streamer, Cambridge Audio has taken an award-winning product and made it even better. Built to stream digital audio from a wide variety of sources, it upscales for sound quality gains. This second generation edition of the CXN offers an array of improvements, thanks to greater processing power and a slicker user experience.
Having already brought Qobuz support to these streamers (plus the Azur 851N) last year, the addition of Roon Ready certification gives owners of the EDGE NQ and CXN (V2) even greater flexibility. Its multi-room music management and playback technology ensures photos, bios, credits, reviews, lyrics, composers can be browsed for an interactive liner-notes experience while listening. Roon also links personal music files with the millions of tracks available on TIDAL and Qobuz, so you can start exploring and discover new tracks beyond your collection.
