BenQ launches V7000i/V7050i 4K laser TV projector

Android TV and Filmmaker Mode! Are you sure this isn’t a TV?

BenQ’s latest 4K ultra short throw laser projector brings together a number of features including Android TV and Filmmaker Mode to elevate the living room cinema experience.

As the market for bright room projectors grows, renowned display technology firm BenQ has added the 4K UHD V7000i / V7050i UST projector to its current portfolio of laser TVs.

The V7050i (finished in black) and the V7000i (the silver variant) features CinematicColor technology that presents the 4K image of 8.3 million pixels in rich, vibrant colours, making up 98-percent of the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. According to BenQ, the V7050i / V7000i offers up to 1.3x the colour volume available from similar laser TVs across an image size greater than 100-inches.

Moreover, HDR-PRO leverages support for HDR10 and HLG high dynamic range, as well as dynamic tone mapping, to ensure that image contrast and brightness levels are optimised on the fly such that shadow areas retain details without overexposing highlights.

Movie fans will be happy to hear that the UHD Alliance’s Filmmaker Mode is included in the V7000i and V7050i so films are presented without additional processing, meaning the viewer sees them exactly as the creator intended.

There’s onboard audio in the form of the treVolo-tuned 5Wx2 virtual surround stereo speakers with a tweeter and a woofer on each side of the projector housing. Clever psychoacoustic technology delivers an immersive soundscape, created from the stereo speakers, through the use of virtual surround sound. Additionally, owners with external sound systems can simply connect to the V7000i / V7050i via dual HDMI 2.0b and SPDIF ports.

With Android TV included, BenQ’s latest really does present an alternative to a big screen TV in the family viewing room, offering up an extensive selection of films, TV shows, games and sports that are easy to browse and find through the intuitive interface.

The understated colour schemes and unobtrusive design helps the V7000i / V7050i blend in with most home décor, and the need for complicated and lengthy cable runs is reduced due to the proximity of the projector to the screen/wall.

An integrated automatic eye protection sensor and sunroof provides eye safety, and a dust-reducing louvre design and laser source that will last 20,000 hours ensures long lasting enjoyment.

Available in June, the V7000i/V7050i retails at £3499 / €3799.
