BenQ consolidates its position as a leading innovator of display technologies with the upcoming release of two new ultra short throw (UST) laser projectors for home entertainment - the V6050 and V6000.
As projected big screen entertainment in the modern home starts to gain traction and cease being the sole preserve of home cinema enthusiasts in their Bat Caves towards more family oriented environments, BenQ has unveiled its first UST projectors designed with that in mind.
The V6050 and V6000 are the first ultra-short throw units to come into the company’s extensive projection portfolio and offer an alternative to large, heavy TVs over 65-inches which often prove tricky to set up and are on permanent display once installed. To fit in with modern home decor, the new projectors are available in black (V6050) or white (V6000) to suit a range of interiors with their simplistic yet contemporary design.
Delivering a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) diagonal 100-inch image from just 23 cm (9-inches) away from the wall or screen, the projector houses side extendable rulers to help guide into position for optimal and speedy alignment based on image size.
The high quality image and colour accuracy is supported by technologies including CinemaMaster Video Enhancer, HDR10 and HDR Pro. These help deliver a colour gamut reaching near Rec.709 (96-percent) and DCI-P3 (98 percent). For film enthusiasts, the projectors are 3D compatible and utilize a 4K Motion and Pixel Enhancer.
Both projectors reach a high brightness of 3000 ANSI Lumens to enable bright and clear images in environments with ambient light and, as a safeguard, an integrated motion detector cuts the light source when anyone is too close, ensuring protection of the eyes - especially reassuring given the likely proximity of children in a family setting.
Audio is taken care of by the 2 x 5W Trevolo Speakers built into the front panel and the top of the projector features a smooth automatic sliding door to protect the optical lens from dust when not in use.
The V6050 and V6000 provide an ideal alternative for consumers looking for a borderless high-resolution television for modern living room spaces and home theatres, and can be easily stored away if the space is required for other purposes.
The BenQ V6050 and V6000 ultra short throw laser projectors will be available from October 2020 priced £3999.
