  • BenQ has announced its new Home Entertainment TK800 DLP Ultra HD projector at a, relatively, affordable price of £1,199.
Featuring true 4K 3840x2160 UHD resolution with 8.3 million distinct pixels, the TK800 is said to be optimised for High Dynamic Range (HDR) to enhance brightness and contrast range with one-step image optimisation and automatic HDR natural colour rendition.

The TK800’s 4K colour wheel achieves 92% of the Rec. 709 colour gamut in conjunction with 3,000 lumen high brightness for awe-inspiring projected picture quality in bright environments with ambient lighting such as living rooms and backyard parties. The TK800 also features auto keystone correction and 1.2X zoom flexibility to help it fit in any space.

With the 2018 World Cup looming, the TK800 features dedicated Football and Sport audio-visual modes. The Football Mode, says BenQ, preserves natural skin tones while intensifying the green grass, while simultaneously clarifying the announcer’s commentary among the cheering crowd of an open-air stadium. The Sport Mode also prioritizes realistic skin shades while enhancing wood tones and vivid reds along with balanced greens and blues for indoor sports, with clear acoustic quality for the announcer’s voice and details such as squeaking sneakers, referee whistles, and ice scraping under skates.

The TK800’s CinemaMaster Audio+ 2 sound system is newly upgraded with a wider frequency range and 5-watt power, using materials such as an aluminium driver diaphragm and resonant sound chambers for improved clarity and deeper bass.

“The world is poised for the 4K revolution in home entertainment,” said Conway Lee, President of BenQ Corporation. “In order to make match viewing a total joy for every sports fan, BenQ is bringing true 4K visuals with HDR, high brightness, and vivid colour to gather with friends and family to immerse in the global spectacle.”

The TK800 will be available in Europe in April 2018
