At least we now know Superman will be held responsible for destroying half of Metropolis in Man of Steel. After teasing us back in April, the first full trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has arrived and it looks as though Zak Snyder's film will have a hefty chunk of Frank Miller's 'The Dark Knight Returns' woven into the plot. We got to say that Ben Affleck certainly looks the part as an ageing and brooding Batman and tying Bruce Wayne into the destruction we saw in Man of Steel really works, with some obvious 9/11 imagery. Although it's been happening in the comics for decades, it remains to be seen if people can accept a cinematic Batman residing in the same universe as Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman; especially after Christopher Nolan tried so hard to ground the character in the real world. Still with this and the upcoming Suicide Squad, the DC cinematic universe is certainly getting interesting. Our only concern is that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice looks as serious and moody as Man of Steel. Would it kill DC to throw some levity and fun into the proceedings?
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in the UK on the 25th of March 2016.
