  • Although well versed in multi-room, wireless audio, Swedish speaker company Audio Pro also has a line of speakers that concentrate on simple, straight forward Bluetooth connectivity. The latest addition to that range is the BT5.
With just a physical 3.5mm jack and wireless Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, the BT5 offers simplicity of purpose wrapped up in a design sporting a Scandinavian aesthetic and a claimed superior audio experience.
Matching the same design touchstones as the company’s A10 and A40 models, the reclaimed-style wood panels (available in beech, walnut and polished black wood) are adorned in matching cloth and feature an aluminium control strip sporting semi-rounded touch buttons. The overall dimensions are 134 x 250 x 150mm (HxWxD) and cabinet includes a bass reflex port.
    Internally, the BT5 uses digital class D amplification issuing a total of 40 watts to a 4-inch (102 mm) woofer and a 0.75-inch (19mm) textile dome tweeter. There’s a quoted frequency response of 50 - 20,000Hz and a crossover operating at 3.8kHz.

The decision to forgo Wi-Fi connectivity in-line with the rest of the T line of speakers is a simple one according to Audio Pro's chief sales and marketing officer Jens Henriksen, who observed, "A Wi-Fi network connection is not always available everywhere.”

He went on, “That’s why we decided to create a speaker that breaks our mould in terms of finish and materials, without compromising our superior sound quality. Something capable of standing out within the segment of Bluetooth speakers.”

The Audio Pro 5 is now available now at an RRP of £149.99 although Currys are running a special introductory price of £99 until Aug 7th.
