Audeze and Astell&Kern launch headphones and music players at Munich High-end
Audeze, the world’s foremost manufacturer of planar magnetic technology, has launched its new LCD-4z design at Munich’s High End Show. The headphone offers the flagship performance of the company’s LCD4 model while using a smartphone as the source without the need for a headphone amp.
Audeze says the a lighter, easier-to-drive version of its flagship LCD4 planar magnetic headphones is able to partner straight with portable music players and even smartphones thanks to a voice coil with 15ohm design. The new LCD-4z headphones are 25% lighter thanks to a magnesium ring design with all of the technology and performance of the LCD4. They will be available at selected specialist audio retailers this month for £3599.
Meanwhile, Astell&Kern is launching the newest earphones in its luxury Siren series named Billie Jean as well as two new portable music players that join its range of premium players: the A&norma SR15 standard is an updated entry-level player for high resolution music listeners while the A&futura SE100 is an all-new midrange player that sits above the company’s KANN design and below the flagship SP1000. The Billie Jean earphones are engineered by in-ear monitor specialist. Jerry Harvey Audio. and will retail at £299, they will be available from UK retailers later in May.
Astell&Kern’s new music players, the A&norma SR15 standard and A&futura SE100 premium designs, make their debut at High End Munich, joining the brand’s high-resolution player portfolio. The SR15 brings updated quality to the AK70 MKII player, offering high-resolution audio to those seeking superior performance from a competitively-priced design. This will go on sale in July with UK prices still to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the SE100 will be joining the flagship A&Ultima SP1000 and KANN in Astell&Kern’s high-resolution player portfolio in a slimline design with diamond-patterned glass back plate. The SE100 is available in June for $1,699. UK prices to be confirmed.
