ATC CDA2 Mk2 CD DAC pre-amplifier gains Roon Tested Certification

ATC has announced that its CDA2 Mk 2 CD, DAC pre-amp has received Roon Tested certification from Roon Labs.

The addition of the Roon Tested certification means that Roon’s QA team has examined and profiled a device so that Roon can correctly identify it and automatically configure its settings to be optimized for that particular hardware. So, when other Roon Tested products are plugged into the CDA2 Mk2, they will be recognised and the best possible audio performance is ensured.

ATC’s CDA2 Mk2 CD, DAC preamplifier was developed as an ideal partner to the company’s latest P2 power amplifier and active speaker designs and combines convenient USB access of up to 24/384kHz PCM/Quad DSD high-resolution music streaming with an upgraded CD transport and a premium 32-bit DAC.

Along with dedicated headphone amplification, there’s a wide input selection, along with analogue circuits redesigned for an even wider, flatter frequency response with very low distortion.

Roon can now add the CDA Mk2 to its armoury of hardware that the innovative music software can enhance with its transformative browsing and streaming experience. Roon provides a rich and engaging journey through artist photos, credits, bios, reviews, lyrics and tour dates, all located automatically and curated into a surfable digital magazine about the listener’s entire music collection.

As a multi-room, multi-user networked audio platform, Roon also offers features such as bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multichannel support, and Signal Path display. Starting with a listener’s own library, Roon can link personal files with the millions of tracks available on TIDAL and Qobuz, enabling the discovery of new music beyond the starting collection.

Roon runs on most Mac, Windows, and Linux PCs as a server, with an Android or iOS smartphone/tablet used as a control point.

ATC (Acoustic Transducer Company) is a specialist British manufacturer of loudspeaker drive units and complete sound reproduction systems at both the industry and consumer levels and its products, hand built and assembled at its factory in Stroud England, are installed at some of the world’s most prestigious multi-channel studios and auditoria.
