ASUS Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 Max launched
ASUS has unveiled its new ZenFone 4 smartphones — ZenFone 4 Pro with Gigabit Connectivity, ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Max — during the We Love Photo press event in Rome.
ZenFone 4 is the first family of smartphones to all feature dual rear or dual front cameras, says ASUS, enabling users to capture the best photos in any scenario, at any distance, and in any lighting conditions.
Taking stage at Rome’s recently opened megastructure The New Rome Conventional Hall, CEO Mr. Shen, expressed his excitement for the European debut of ZenFone 4. “We are very thrilled to announce the availability of the ZenFone 4 family to all of Europe,” said Mr. Shen. “Our ZenFone 4 series comes with the best dual-cameras, and photography and connectivity features to change the way you document and share every precious moment with your friends and family.”
Executive Vice President of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and President of QCT, Cristiano Amon joined Mr. Shen on stage to commemorate the ZenFone 4 launch and to praise the strong relationship between ASUS and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Mr. Amon continued on to highlight some of the leading technologies found in the new smartphones. “It is a pleasure to work with ASUS on the launch of their ZenFone 4 family of smartphones all powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platforms. ZenFone 4 Pro marks a significant milestone for the mobile industry as it’s the world’s first commercial smartphone to have gigabit LTE and 802.11ad multi-gigabit Wi-Fi technologies, offering ultra-fast gigabit connectivity everywhere— indoors or on the go. The collaboration between Qualcomm Technologies, ASUS and our joint carrier partners is helping to build the gigabit experience for mobile users while paving the way for the upcoming industry transition to 5G. ZenFone 4 also uses the Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform to provide superior user experiences, while maintaining extraordinary battery performance.”
The ZenFone 4 is a 5.5-inch Android smartphone. The dual-camera system features a main camera with the flagship Sony IMX362 image sensor and a large, f/1.8 aperture lens that promises strong low-light performance, as well as a 120° wide-angle lens that enables users to fit more scenery and people in the frame.
It features the Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform and a high-capacity 3300mAh lithium polymer battery and ASUS BoostMaster fast-charge technology. The Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform with up to 4GB of RAM is engineered to support improved CPU performance and the Adreno 508 GPU is designed to deliver 30% faster graphics performance than Snapdragon 626 for smooth and responsive experiences with the latest apps and games.
The ZenFone 4 Max Series are smartphones designed to be the perfect all-day photography companion, featuring a dual rear-camera system with a 13MP main camera and a 120° wide-view camera. The ZenFone 4 Max will come in two different sizes for Europe. ZenFone 4 Max (ZC554KL) features a 5.5-inch display and a high-capacity 5000mAh battery with ASUS PowerMaster technology for a claimed 46 days of 4G standby time. With its massive battery power, ZenFone 4 Max can double as a power bank for charging other devices, supplying 5V at 1A to attached devices when using the included USB On The Go (OTG) cable. While charging other devices, ZenFone 4 Max monitors its own charge level and will not allow the battery to drain below 30% capacity. The ZenFone 4 Max also supports 4G LTE Category 4 for ultrafast mobile download speeds up to 150Mbps.
The ZenFone 4 (ZE554KL) will be available with an MSRP of £449.99, including a free case from 6th October 2017. The ZenFone 4 Max (ZC554KL) will be available with an MSRP of £249.99.
