Available now, with exclusive enticements

At long last, Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service is now widely available on Android tablets.
Amazon Prime members in the UK can now stream tens of thousands of movies and TV episodes at no additional cost to their membership by downloading the free Prime Instant Video app exclusively via the Amazon Appstore.

The app, which unusually opens up in a browser before taking you the video player, also offers a more immersive entertainment experience with Amazon’s exclusive X-Ray feature which brings information about movies and TV series from IMDb, directly onscreen – sometimes in a slightly intrusive way.

In addition, the Prime Instant Video app for Android phones has been updated with X-Ray as well as the ability to browse for titles on the Amazon website within the mobile web browser and initiate playback directly from there.

Prime members can start enjoying a variety of titles on their Android tablets including new and exclusive series - Outlander, which was the winner of this year’s People’s Choice Awards for Favourite Cable Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Show and based on the best-selling books by Diana Gabaldon.

Exclusive drama series such as the latest Amazon Original Series Bosch based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling books, gritty pirate drama Black Sails, the hugely popular prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘Treasure Island’, and History’s gripping original drama series, Vikings (excellent) – now in season 3.

In addition, all Amazon customers and Android tablet users can now access new release movies like The Imitation game, Interstellar and Paddington along with in-season shows like The Walking Dead, Scandal and Better Call Saul, for rent or purchase on an à la carte basis.

You can even use it to get your pre-order in for the digital release of Star Wars!
