Amazon Alexa coming to Yamaha MusicCast line-up in 2017
Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant is coming to Yamaha MusicCast products later in 2017, adding voice control possibilities that promise to make multiroom set-up and operation a breeze as well as taking care of more routine tasks.
Following an update later in 2017, it will be possible to distribute music throughout the house using voice control. The firmware update is scheduled for autumn, this year, and will be applied to more than 40 products of the MusicCast lineup – from AV receivers to sound bars to streaming speakers. An Alexa skill that adds support for the MusicCast commands will simultaneously be made available.

You can, of course, use Amazon Alexa in combination with your multiroom system now; since the Echo Dot offers a Bluetooth output, it can be paired with any MusicCast wireless speaker, sound bar or AV receiver. After that, the two devices can be connected by simply saying the words, “Alexa, connect.” The sound of the Echo Dot can then be played back through a single MusicCast device, or multiple devices can be linked using the MusicCast app.
