Marantz states that its new AV 10 processor and AMP 10 amplifier represent the pinnacle of the brand’s AV history. Given Marantz’s record of producing superb home cinema products, that’s quite a claim. Let’s see if it’s justified.  

Finally, Emotiva’s slimline BasX MC1 home cinema processor reaches our shores. It does exactly what it says on the tin, which is decoding up to 13.2 audio channels. This is a good fit for those upgrading to separates in their AV room, but does the sound match up to the bold ‘audiophile’ claims of the maker?  

The 8K-ready HDMI 2.1 upgrades from Lyngdorf were initially due back in 2021 but, after a few delays, the two multi-channel processors will finally get the extra benefits from March.

The Acurus Muse is a high-end 16-channel AV processor that supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Hi-Res Audio and the company's ASPEQT room correction technology. The Muse uses a compact cabinet that's designed for media rooms or commercial and marine applications, but still delivers a comprehensive immersive audio experience.  

Updated 13th December 2021: The already impressive Trinnov Altitude16 AV processor has now been updated to add IMAX Enhanced and four additional channels of processing that allows for a full 9.4.6 immersive audio system.  

The Anthem AVM 70 sports a sexy new design and includes all the latest features, plus it promises a genuinely immersive 15.2-channel experience with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced decoding, and ARC Genesis room correction.  

Trinnov Audio has announced that an upcoming update to its Altitude A/V platform will enable four additional output channels and bring IMAX Enhanced certification at no extra cost.  

The Arcam AV40 is the latest high-end AV Processor from the British audio manufacturer and boasts 16-channels of surround sound processing using the very latest codecs, as well as Dirac Live 16-channel room optimisation.  

French audio pioneer Trinnov is promising a range of updates to its Altitude AV processors throughout 2021 as it strives for continued performance and longevity for consumers.  

The MP-40 is the smaller venue based AV Processor from Lyngdorf with 12-channels of decoding for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro 3D, along with RoomPerfect calibration and full system integration. It offers exactly the same performance as the MP-60 but in a smaller package, so just how good is it?  

Anthem has announced the newest versions of its high-end multichannel home theatre and music audio hardware with the launch of the new MRX 540, MRX 740 and MRX 1140 AV Receivers, the AVM 70 and AVM 90 AV Processors and three GEN2 power amplifiers in the form of the MCA 225, MCA 325 and MCA 525 amps.  

McIntosh’s busy release schedule for 2020 continues with something for home cinema enthusiasts as it unveils the all digital MX100 AV processor and MI347 7-channel power amplifier.  

The new AV7706 AV pre-amplifier features the latest surround sound audio formats, 8K compatibility, 11.2 channels and plenty of connectivity.  

The CX-A5200 is a replacement for the long-running CX-A5100 processor and adds some better audio components and also changes some of the inputs available. The big updates are new DACs and a new power transformer, as well as the addition of Surround:AI to the Cinema DSP HD3 processing for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio formats.
