Sony’s latest system software update adds extra height to its 3D audio set-up across its gaming catalogue, along with second controller support and a larger SSD solution.  

Designed with competitive gamers in mind, it offers a QHD display with 240Hz refresh rates and a response time of 0.03ms GtG.  

There were 27 games on show, all coming to PC as well as Xbox Series X/S (and a few others), with a new Fable adventure and the open-world Star Wars Outlaws revealed, plus a 1TB Xbox Series S and plenty more intriguing announcements.  

It was an otherwise game-heavy event, with Spider-Man 2 as the headline act among no fewer than 33 titles on show, including the likes of Alan Wake 2 and a new Bungie IP, plus some official PS earbuds.  

The surprise winner edged out the likes of God of War Ragnarök, which otherwise topped the winner’s list with six awards, including the public's vote for Game of the Year.  

Sony’s epic action-adventure picks up 14 nods, the most in the awards’ history, with Stray, Elden Ring, and Horizon Forbidden West among the other leading contenders.  

With its first OLED display, the super-sized Mobiuz EX480UZ jumps straight to the top of the series listings, as well as packing a more familiar 120Hz refresh rate, 0.1ms response times, and optimised HDRi modes.
