you go into the service menu as previously mentioned but if you send me your email i will send you my settings and a copy of the service manual if your email will stand it the other 7 and 8 series led tv are good but not realy any better that the 6 series as all they offer is extra software that you will never use a word of advise the out of box settings has the contrast set to almost the max of "10" start with 4 or 5 and follow it with the brightness control increase them both untill you get the best picture for you and then go into picture option and set the blackness to the lower setting / also reduce the colour to around 47 or 48 ... just tweak around those settings and hey presto ?? a great picture even if you do not have sky hd i have played blue ray dvd back on this set and it is awsome it almost like looking through a open window and that is with the 100 hz motion plus switched of ??? the max refresh rate that these sets can be set to is around 148hz ... with an option of setting it to 120hz through the service menu but sky is only transmitting around 50hz at the moment but the set will automaticly detect the best refresh rate to what is being transmitted to the set any way good luck and have fun Originally Posted by kjcam Can you put up details of how you did this please? first switch the tv off with the red power button wait a few seconds then press the following buttons in sequence "info" -- "menu" --- "mute" ---"power" the set will then switch on ..wait a few seconds after the picture comes on and the set will show a window in the left side with all the hidden service menu press enter on the top "option" then scroll down to "model" press enter then using the button to the right of the enter button scroll through untill you get to the 7000 series when you have this press enter and it will lock it into the 7000 series press the red power button to switch off then switch back on ... insert a usb flash drive abd go to the media menu and low and behold there is the movie icon you do not have the full menu of the 7000 series ( i am working on that ) but it will now run movies from the usb flash ..... i have my tv now running at 120HZ playing movies and copied dvd and its fantastic i have the full service and repair manual for this tv that i can send on a dvd / cd if any one is interested silverback
