  • Philips launched their new TV line-up in Amsterdam last week and we were there to take a closer look and speak to picture guru Danny Tack about their latest features.
The emphasis was very much on OLED, with three new models announced, but there was also a strong line-up of LCD TVs with the higher end ranges now using IPS NanoCell panels. The OLED and higher end LCD TVs will also include the P5 picture processor that performed so well in their recent shoot-out and HDR10+ support, whilst most of the Philips range also use the Android smart TV platform. Philips have also added smartphone set up and Google Assistant voice control, whilst some of their lower end models will use the new Linux-based Saphi smart platform. Finally Danny took the opportunity to give us a taste of the future by demonstrating a neural network processor that will one day replace the already impressive P5 picture engine.
