Forum Topic: Advice on mounting TV on Brick Fireplace
Open to suggestions...
Like many new visitors to AVForums, recent recruit, JoRoWaMa, has come seeking advice from our knowledgeable membership.
In a nutshell, JoRoWaMa and fiancée have recently bought their first home together (congratulations) and they want to have the TV on the wall. They currently rock a Samsung UE49KU6500, which is due to be upgraded to a 55" higher spec. model shortly.
Ideally, they would want to be able to connect an Xbox One S, Sky Q Hub, and occasionally, the laptop. Additionally, they would also like the option to be able to add a soundbar, or some form of surround sound system, at some point.
Commendably, JoRoWaMaI has done some research and come up with two options that could suit them:
•Trunking, which would likely be simple and cheap to complete. However, he doesn't know whether this would become slightly irritating to see over time.
•Cutting out some of the brickwork and having the cables completely hidden. Obviously, this is the most invasive and would cost the most to complete, but would look the best..
Here are a couple of images to help you get an idea of the current layout. If you have any advice or ideas, please fire away.
Hint: there are already some great suggestions, if you happen to be investigating the same sort of project.
