CES 2018 News: Best TVs of the Show
There's some incredible TV tech on the horizon
It's been a good CES 2018 when it comes to TVs, with all the major manufacturers showcasing exciting new products.Panasonic weren't at the show themselves but launched their new FZ952 and FZ802 OLED TVs at an event in Los Angeles. Sony added another OLED to their line-up in the shape of the AF8 and also announced a much reduced LCD line-up including the XF90, XF85 and XF80. However they did wow the crowds with their 8K 10,000nit TV that uses their X1 Ultimate processor. LG had the largest range of OLEDs with the B8, C8, E8, G8 and W8 Wallpaper TV, along with their SK9000 and SK9500 SUPER UHD TVs. Samsung were showcasing technology rather specific models and had a new flagship QLED TV that uses over 10,000 local dimming zones and can deliver a peak brightness of 4,000nits. They also had the 146-inch 'The Wall', the world's first modular TV that uses their Micro LED self emissive technology. It's still a prototype but 'The Wall' certainly attracted plenty of attention and gave us a tantalising glimpse of Samsung's future plans. Not to be out-done Hisense's new flagship U9 uses 1,000 zones and can deliver 2,500nits, whilst the U7 is the Official TV of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Finally TCL will be doing the UK market this year with two 4K LED TVs in the form of the P6 and C7.
