I have to say that this looks GENIUS!! If not technically, as a marketting tool, its going to help the Wii millions more (as if it needed more help) just because of this...

You can almost see the ad campaign and the number of women (sorry to be sexest, but this is bound to appeal to the fairer sex) who tell their partners (or atleast give them permission) to go out and buy one, just for WiiFit!

    Totally agree with Jon,

The whole motion sensitive concept of the Wii is what has driven me to buy one. I'm not really a video game person, I wouldn't dream of shelling out on a PS3 or X-box360.

A few of my workmates have spoken about his, and those with kids seem happier for them to be playing the Wii. I think Nintendo just might have hit the jackpot with this one.

I whole heartedly agree.. I want one too.. But I was hoping to not have to admit that here, instead blaming my other 1/2 :)

I for one am really looking forward to this. Nintendo are doing the right thing in terms of diversifying the 'games' it offers to its user base. I can imagine this will be something the whole family can use.

I got my wii 2 weeks ago... in anticipation of something like this, 20 years of sitting on my bottom playing computer games has not been kind to me. While my wife is as fit as a fiddle.

My time has finally arrived... I will get fit !

    (mebbe) :)

I can't believe how well it works. What got me with the Wiimote is that its a proper 3D "joypad" and it seems that Nintendo have managed to make a 3D "dance mat".

I can see a wide range of games coming out for this if they price the controller right, could you imagine the Sonic/Mario Olympic game using this controller?

For me this is the single biggest announcement at E3, if they get the pricing and marketing right it will change gaming - I've turned into a 12 year old Nintendo fan boy again.

I was watching a video earlier and they were saying how it could be adapted for other games, such as a skateboarding game/surfing game etc. Could be quite good.

I agree. I read a lot of comments lambasting Nintendo dueing its E3 press conference for the fact that this wasn't a real game.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to this and this is the type of 'game' that really speaks 'mass appeal'.

I think more to the point the Wii Fit board has the potential to be used in other games and if Nintendo and the third party developers can harness this potential it really could lead to a number of great games that use the peripheral.

I see the "game" that is comes with the same as Wii Play, just a simple tech demo to showcase what the controller can do. As long as it sells well there should be a range of more featured fitness games.

Thinking about this some more I really really hope that the upcoming Star Wars game supports it, being able to move around on the board and translate that to your on screen avatar would be brilliant. You'd be able to duck, jump, weave and so on all while using the Wiimote to work the lightsabre.

Like the look of this, may get the Mrs interested - and using it in other games could really be an asset to the Wii.

Here is to "SSX Wii Fit Edition", not sure about the back flips though

Eurogamer have posted their first impressions here. Personally, I think this will be a massive seller for Nintendo.
