what would a Sigma 28-300mm AF Aspherical IF (Sony/Minolta Fit) be like on my alpha

    being looking through some 2nd hand lens and come across this, read some a good and bad thing, what would be like on my a200.

    i found it 2nd hand very good condidtion for £99.

    so what do you people think??? how does it compare to the igma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro DG

    Your Sony will take any Sony or Minolta AF lens, however - since Sigma doesn't pay any licensing for the lens mount and is reverse engineered - there is a possability the older lenses will not work. The lenses can usually be 'upgraded' by Sigma to work, but that is only worthwhile for the more expensive lenses.

    Unless someone has tested that lens, it's impossible to say. The 28-300 is a massive range and I would guess that the 70-300 will be a much sharper/better lens.

    ok so i need to look for af mount, and ill stick to looking for the 70-300mm cheers for the info
