I think I will go back to crt tvs if I can find one this lcd hassle aint for me
i recieved mine monday, but only really used it at the weekend, the picture quality is poor when watching football, and the remote doesnt seem to work from a very short distance, would this eligbile for ebuyer to refund??
Hmm ... seems like a common issue. It doesn't sound like it's 'fit for purpose' to me. Apart from the dodgy picture, (you could argue that you get what you pay for) if the 'remote' control does not work 'remotely' then I would say that this should be reason alone to request an RMA.
Mine should be collected tomorrow. I'm now watching a Beautiful 32" Sony CRT which cost me £60!
I have received my Vistron today and I cant pick up any channels through the ariel. I have tested the ariel on my other tv and another freeview box and it works ok with them. Has anybody had any troubles like this?
I have just realized that I have a dead pixel and a crack in the side aswell.
So I wouldent recomend this tv to anybody, no wonder they have over 300 in stock.
City-Link uplifted as arranged this morning.
Phoned Ebuyer on Friday evening and asked for the City-Link reference number for the collection .. after reading many here did not receive a visit from City-Link as promised by Ebuyer!
So I await a full refund for this item .. which I duly expect in the next few days without any problem.
So guys if you are promised a delivery/ collection from City-Link ... ask for the reference number .. then you can go to
and confirm that the service required is in fact booked by Ebuyer.
Hope this helps any other 32" Vistron buyers' who received a used .. "been out of the box before" set.
Same here, they didnt deliver the replacement on Thursday so I asked for a refund over the weekend, apparently they cannot cancel the replacement going out and I have to refuse delivery when it turns up tomorrow before they can "process my refund"
Starting to get a little worried as I have already purchased another TV and am relying on this refund money!
Courier collected mine today. My girlfriend helped him take it to the van and he chucked it in the back.
I just hope that the refund comes swiftly.
P.S. Just spent a massive £60 on a Sony 32" CRT and stand from Ebay. I can now watch a great SD picture. I still miss the looks of the Vistron (mine looked new).
Update .. City-Link's website confirms that the USED Vistron 32" TV I received as a new TV was delivered back to Ebuyer today before 1pm.
Now let's see how fast the refund is applied.
From Ebuyer via email a few minutes ago ...
"This item was tested and found to be faulty. You will be refunded for this item when this RMA is closed - please check your credit notes via the Account > Ledger section for more details.
Please note: Card refunds can take 3 working days to clear"
Note that Ebuyer offer no apology for the inconvenience or hassle for their mistake!
Just have to check that the full £319.99 price for the TV is refunded as my total order came to over £360.
Mine didn't have the "Samsung 120Hz panel" fitted and didn't respond to 065 SKY remote code (favourite OEM code) ... so there must be as with all LCD TV's a few variants of this Vistron model.
Hey but I'm not stupid enough to have ordered a replacement.
Did ANYONE actually receive a mint factory sealed 32" Vistron unit with SKY functionality and the Samsung 120Hz panel?
Citylink came to deliver my replacement today, I refused the delivery then emailed ebuyer to tell them. This is going to be quite difficult as I ordered with google checkout so do not actually have a login to the website, thus I cant track any RMA number or anything.
Only just got mine and not had a chance to fiddle too much with set up but do have a couple of simple questions that I need answering.
Bought mine with the cantilever stand. Can someone please confirm that the 4 screws in the rear panel are indeed those to be used for attaching to the stand (or indeed wall mount if you used one)? I am just a little worried that I will unscrew these and the innards will fall out.
Secondly, although I will probably not use it with analogue, can anyone explain how I tune the analog channels as the menu button does not appear to work in analogue?
I hope once I can have a play with it, I don't have the problems that seem prevalent on this forum.
Re your email Mark ..
Login to your Ebuyer A/C and raise a request for an RMA explaining the problems you have with the TV.
Read my posts for further info .. best to phone Ebuyer Customer Services after your RMA is accepted and get a City-Link reference number .. so you don't stay in waiting all day and nothing happens.
I wouldn't recommend one of these either .. but I would still purchase other kit from Ebuyer as they have refunded for the returned TV.
REMEMBER .. uplifts from City-Link are only on a Monday OR Friday.
i emailed ebuyer pre-purchase support and he confirmed the follwoing. may order one even though i've reserved a 26" AS at argos:
Thank You For Contacting Pre - Sales Support
We did have to some recalled due to a problem with the manufacturer.
However the product does have a 5 star rating from 44 customer reviews. It might be worth having a look at those customer reviews if you are unsure.
They definitely come with 100hz Samung Screen.
They do come with the remote and instructions etc fully boxed.
It does come with 12 months support from Ebuyer. Any queries come back to us or problems with the TV.
If you are unsure I would recommend this TV, it has excellent reviews and feedback from our customer base. Have a look.

yeah but no sign of the one star review I gave of tv on their website, funny that
im going to try the 26" acoustic one and if thats crap will invest the extra for this one if it is the 100mhz samsung panel!
The vistron TV is very cheap and tacky, the acoustic solutions set is way better aesthetically and picture quality wise. I got the 32" AS set after having the faulty vistron, loads better!
Congrats, nothing come through here yet but I ordered with google checkout
I'm skint seeing as I went and bought the 32" Acoustic Solutions TV from argos hoping this refund would be coming through... oops!
Phone your credit or debit card bank if your online statement doesn't reflect the refund.
Credit should be there in 3 days max. .. although not always shown in real time on the credit or debit online statements from my experience.
Quick call will confirm.
P.S. My credit for £319.99 just showing now online from my bank. Credit was issued by Ebuyer 3pm Monday 4th February.
Got refund today glad this episode is over never again
Which lcd is next on your hitlist ?
I see you have the Teco TV. If you go onto a Freeview shopping channel with scrolling words at the bottom of the screen, are they jumpy as they go across? If you change the aspect ratio do they then go smooth?
It seems ok on all the aspect ratios. It is a little pixelated but thats gotta be due to a crappy signal. On another note 1280x720 is alot sharper than 1360x768. Is it the same on yours ?
Not going for lcd thinking of getting another crt tv
Money refunded finally! Glad that POS has gone
I don't have the TECO. I was just interested as I used to have a Hannspree which I believe has the same board inside it, and the same firmware (on the 32" at any rate).
Sorry for shifting off the subject of the thread.
After FOUR of the vistrons, I have given up...
Awaiting the final one to be collected tomorrow, but the replacement was delivered today, the Teco model referred to by some. 40 quid more, but SO Much better! It works! It came in a brand new box! It was not bashed in! It tuned ALL the FV channels in straight away! The remote works!
On top of all that, it looks far better too, the finish is much better.
Worth 40 quid more? Absolutely!
Oh, incidentally, Don't go on the rating on the ebuyer site... they vet the reviews, so negative ones won't get on...
I Know cos mine didn't....!
Amazing, I put a review on the ebuyer site for the teco I've just bought, and I admit it did mention the vistron a few times, but not only do they vet the reviews, I've just discovered they also edit them too!!!
The review on the teco page is not word for word what I put... amazing!
I wonder how many, and to what degree they 'alter' other reviews?
Is this the same model that ebuyer are now selling for £229.99??
would surely be fine for connecting to an Xbox360 or PS3 ...
