Hi friendly AVForum folks! I'm new here......I just bought a pair of vintage Pioneer CS-77A speakers and have no idea how to hook them up! The wire connectors are blue & white spring loaded (I think). They did not come with any speaker wire. Any how to's and/or suggestions/recommendations on what kind of wire, where to buy & how to connect would be oh-so appreciated! Cheers-Jessica

I'm pretty sure that normal stripped speaker wire is used. In this case Blue = Red.
I used to have similar Pioneer speaker with a 1971 Pioneer Amp, Cassette deck and turntable. The Speaker connection at the amp end was a proprietry Pioneer connector block. It all got lost in a house move :thumbsdow. It was all very nice stuff and I still buy Pioneer gear.

    Defined 'how'?

You say, how do I connect the speakers?

What is it you don't understand?

Is it how the connectors are suppose to work?

You will notice that printed on the cabinet above the terminals are (+) and (-) marks. That would seem to solve the problem, but since there still seems to be a problem, could you be a little clearer about what you don't understand?

Are you wondering if these are 'push' terminals or 'screw' terminals?

It is not really clear specifically what you are asking.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I see that the connectors are labeled +/-. What I am unsure of is where to connect the speaker wire to the connectors. Admittedly so, I spent about a glance's worth of time looking at the connectors. I also was unsure whether or not I could use bare wires. Cheers Jessica
