Here's a sneak peak at the VT50 and GT50. They certainly do look brighter than the 2011 VIERA's.

Why feed them a poor source? Its like Panasonic just havent bothered this year, first nothing during the presentation then this at the stand:confused: They do look brighter and the blacks look good under the bright lighting too. Cant wait to here more.:)....cant help but be a bit dissapointed, with Samsung catchin youd think theyd be trying harder.

...Steve any chance of a look at the whole range?:)

Odd that they wouldnt show high quality video on their panels, it's not like they dont make Blu-Ray players.

It's hard to tell in the low light environment but it looks like the VT50 is glass from edge to edge, it's certainly a nicer design than the VT30.

No more silver line on the GT. Very good call. I hated that thing!

Mmmm, I sense the presence of a rodent.

I thought the 25,000 gradations was too good to be true.

I really don't think you can make any judgements from the stand demo.

Really?! lol ;) It always makes me chuckle how bad demo's often are. I had the uk product manager of one top audio company demonstrating a jitter reduction feature on a blurry player to a room full of dealers turning it on and off on 1 menu and all the dealers were sitting there agreeing how much better it was but I could tell it hadn't been setup correctly so his actions were making no difference what so ever I just sat there smiling to my self.
Least were getting to the point that if my KURO dies i could get a replacement that wouldn't totally disappoint me.
btw great work so far guys keep it coming.

If it will be little brighter and without 50hz bug and just more gradations it will be more then superb and ofcorse without some more new bugs.

I wish the Panasonic officials were more visible and omnipresent like LG's George Mead. This guy seems to have appeared in already 2 videos and none from Panasonic to show off new offerings. Steve! Please get hold of Panasonic guys and show us some meat around the bone :smashin:

Nice 1 :) I'm guessing all the 60" models are not destined for the UK though :(

Seen as there is no 42 inch version at CES 2012 and 50" is now the smallest available there (USA), I'm hoping they do release the 60 or 65 incher in the UK :D

65 too big for me , A 60" ST or GT could be a contender though, along with about 5 other TV's LOL

Europe tends to get 42 inch versions. But they might skip it this time.

yeh, its bright orite, Samsung have shown with D8000 plasma, that plasma TV does not have to be dim and dull, with their offering last year and have shown the door to Pana.

It will interesting how Samsung do one better with follow up to D8000

Its a real shame there is no 42'' screen, just wonder why they always push for bigger screens and not realising that the avarage house may be able to accomodate these on walls or floor.

42'' is the max I can go for.

So Phil, can you find out what bugs on the Panny have been ironed out?

Is the improved brightness as good as the existing samsung models?

Remember these details are only 100% good for the North American market. I would be surprised if there was no 42" for the UK and Europe.

Well the US GT and VT50 get THX 3D certification, i.e a 3D pre-set, so it should follow ours will too.

We'll put the second half of your question on the list for the Euro launch, it's something I'd certainly like to see!
