My problem was that I had no idea what your Windows executable did. I take it we only need to change 0x30 to 0x31 in a file (if we have XFS)? It doesn't matter but your copyright notice is ambiguous. The GPL (assuming that's what you're referring to) doesn't prevent people from claiming the software is their own by default. It's an additional requirement you would need to specify explicitely. People are required to keep copyright notices by default however (a requirement not specific to the GPL). I noticed that timeshifting has occasional glitches with my USB device but recording doesn't. Do you know why? You can timeshift a recording in real time so that's not much of an issue (the only downside is that you need to manually delete the file when you're done).
