Saw that blatant dive by Rafael in all it's glory lol.
Seems to be ok now, yeah haha
Average for the whole team is only 24, would be even lower if old man Berba wasn't playing lol.
Can anyone explain how you tackle studs down?
Not a bad nucleus for the future out there.
We deserve to be beaten. Ajax have been desperate for the win and we couldn't give a turd!
Badly outnumbered for that header.
United were lucky they got the early goal as they looked extremely average for the remainder of the game.
Great save by De Gea kept you in that game tbh.
edit: maybe average is too harsh a word, but they didn't look up for the match and should have comfortably beat Ajax
Typical United making real hard work of it, talk about "squeaky bum time" at the end..
First dutch side to win at OT apparently and they certainly deserved the win on the night that's for sure. Their fans were in good voice too, great support.
I'm pleased De Gea is improving, got a feeling he'll have a great second season.
I wasn't at all fussed about tonights result, its a joke of a competition. How a team who is not good enough in the main European draw, gets to slot in to this Europa League is pathetic. Once your out of a competition you should be out not demoted to this, it has just underminds the competition and the teams initially involved.
Its just a third rate trophy, i've ripped others in the past for it and now get it back from them. Simply a poor competition because of the way UEFA runs it. If we were out of it maybe it be a good thing, stops Glazers getting any more money in from cup competitions this season. Also gives us good recovery times for Premier league.
Yes something like 8 games if we get to the final!
Trophies are nice and all but we should be dumped out of the champ league and learn a harsh lesson. Saying that from the team selection (which he even acknowledged in terms of back 4 at once) and the teams work rate they don't seem To care.
Yeah i get what you're saying but it's still a trophy and i'd like to see United win it, i won't ever wish they lose or get knocked out regardless of competition but that's me. City certainly look up for it, an all Manchester final would be good
Fergie said he wanted to win it because it's one trophy he's never won, although to be fair what else is he going to say i suppose.
All Manchester final The only team that SHOULD beat us is City. The way we played last night it would be about 8-0 to them.
Losing when it's inconsequential actually gives fergie the perfect excuse to put a rocket up their arses to give it the final push of the season.
We usually get a good response.
Apparently Kompany got injured? That's bad news for City. . .we have done amazingly well without Vidic for months. . .but when City were without Kompany for a couple of weeks they looked AWFUL at times, I'm sure City are hoping this isn't a serious problem.
This Europa league is bad for us. . .hope we avoid pointless injuries tonight!!!!
The Europa league is like the Carling cup. Take it more and more seriously the further you get in the competition. Nothing to cry about if you get knocked out.
They've dominated us in terms of running forward and yet we get the first real chance and score lol
VERY well deserved goal. Man United have been pish (like we have for months) per usual but this team has actually punished us and taken advantage! Defending was hilarious!
I thought this was meant to be a 'walk in the park' for Man Utd, seeing as La Liga teams are rubbish and only Madrid and Barca can knock 4-5 goals past these teams.
How did I know you'd say something like that This is one series of games. Anything can Happen.
Look at 1 and 2 in the Spanish League. It's consistent for a reason. It's not one series of games. . .it's just relentless year after year of Madrid - Barcelona whooping and pounding everyone else.
Our biggest down fall in the first half was Rooney giving away the ball. And others.
Getting the ball. . .running forward. . .and passing to Athletico meaning they countered. More composure please
My point was its quite patronising when people downplay these teams just because they happen to lose to two of the greatest assembled teams ever.
De gea has been bloody brilliant the past 3 games, has definitely improved since the start of the season.
Would somebody in Channel 5 answer that bloody phone?!
Where's Nani Why is Anderson making his comeback in this tricky game? Fergie must be resting Nani and Scholes.
This is no way near a full strength United team. No wonder Bilbao look so good.
Once you see Evans in defence with Jones in midfield you know somethings up. Ferdinand was warming up earlier but it looks like he's saving Ferdinand, Scholes, Nani and Valencia.
Zzzzzz. Not full strength but not exactly much wrong with it either!
David DeGea has stopped this being like 7-1
