What else is in your Man Cave.
    PS3? 360? etc.
Are you going to be using for movies/Gaming 2D ?
How many people do you want to accommodate in there (Number of glasses required)

Also it may sound stupid but have you actually tried 3D.
The reason i ask is that a guy on here last week bought a 3D TV only to find out that he was one of the unlucky people who cannot actually see the 3D effect.

First thing is to decide whether you want Active Or Passive 3D
    You beat me to it.

passive is very similar tech to that in a cinema.
In fact you can use the glasses from the cinema on the LG Passive 3D TV's
Passive is easier on the eye IMO and the glasses are cheap.
    Personally i have Passive sets
    a 47" LW450 in the lounge
    a 32" LW450 in the games room
So i might be a bit biassed.
TBH i would spend a bit of time reading up
There are loads of [-]arguments[/-] discussions on here [-]arguing[/-] discussing the merits & downfall of each tech.
Then pop into a store and demo a few sets for yourself.

You have opened a can of worms there.
There is no "BETTER" IMO and it all comes down to preference.
Passive met my needs better than an Active set did. (Didn't want to pay an extra £400+ for all the specs i would need)
was very happy with my 47" that i went out and got a matching 32" for upstairs.

The Samsung is Active.and Samsung only do Active
For Passive you will have to look at
    LG
    Toshiba
    Phillips
Plus a few no name supermarket brands.
A few more of the big hitters are moving into the Passive market soon too.
    Panasonic being the biggest.
But (And i am happy to be corrected if am wrong) The majority of them all buy their panel from LG anyway.
All passive sets are LCD/LED and are not available i Plasma form.
    Sizes range from 32">55" usually.

On my experience of 18 months with a Samsung Active 3D TV I'd say it's the make to go for, but that not that one as it's only "HD Ready".
