it´s works perfect with BDX1200KU. thanks to all and thanks to Viking61
Hi Viking61, hello everybody having fun with this nice player
I want to join this community and ask for a link to get access to the firmware.
Thanks in advance
Ask to get your account opened for PM, and contact me there.
Hi Viking61. I already asked to open my account for PM, but has not happened. Can you send my via PM a link for the BDX1200KY firmware?
Best regards, and very thanks for your help...
I bought this for south america, but now I realize that for DVD it comes with zone 1 instead of 4.
Again thanks for your help....
Your account will probably be opened for PM today, and I will send you the link then.
I don't know which TV-system you use where you live, if it is NTSC or PAL. Maybe you need a TV that supports PAL to be able to use the firmware. The firmware has also only english as language choice.
I'm a new member and have requested for PM to be opened.
I purchased a BDX1200KE yesterday and would like to make it multi-region with the BDX1200KY firmware.
Any help with directing me to the link would be much appreciated.
Many thanks Viking61, worked like a charm!
As a new happy customer of the Tosh' BDX1200KE (75.00 in France!!!!), could you help me for the Blu-Ray all zones tip?
I won't buy a 3D Blu-Ray player for the instance. The 3D technologies are just at their beginnings: a new 3D TV screen WITHOUT glasses will be sold I think as soon as possible.
I say, I prefer to wait to, this time, invest in it and in an all zones DVD/Blu-Ray player + 5.1/6.1/7.1 Home Theatre sound system.
Thanks for your help!!
Ask to get your account opened for PM (see instructions in post above) and I will send you the link there.
Hi again Viking61!!!
Request done to the All Mighty Admins (May Tharg Bless Them!!!). I am waiting now.
If I can find another "How to..." tips, I will put them on the forum. (I have in mind a certain Samsung SH-B123L in OEM version...)
Download links for Toshiba BDX1200 regionfree firmware
The regionfree firmware can either be downloaded as an iso-file (BDX1200KY_V16.iso), and used with a program like ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com) to write the image file to a CD. Start ImgBurn and select 'Write imagefile to disc'. Put the CD in the player and the upgrade will start in a short time.
You can download the firmware file (BDX1200_APP.bin) itself and copy it to a USB-stick in a folder called UPG_ALL. Put the USB-stick in the player and go to Upgrade in the Setup Menu. Select upgrade from USB.
New link to Toshiba firmware files:
The only language in the firmware is english. If that is a problem for any non-english speakers, then you better not install it.
Procedure for changing regions (after installing the regionfree firmware)
1. Power on the blu-ray player.
2. Press "Setup" on the remote to enter Setup Menu.
3. Using the remote, enter "8520". A new submenu will appear.
4. Set DVD region code to "0" for DVD Multi Region.
5. Set BD region code as required using the remote buttons.
"1" = Region A, "2" = Region B, "4" = Region C
6. Press "Setup" button to exit the menu.
I've just purchased the BDX-1200KB model and it's on the way, but I can't seems to download the ISO or the bin file in Rapidshare. Do I need to pay in order to download ? I only registered as a user and not rapidpro.
It should go even without registering, Just click on the green Download button in the middle. If you use Internet Explorer 9, you might need to click on 'Show all content' or something like that. It popped up a question about that when I tried the download.
Can anyone else confirm that they managed to download from the Rapidshare links?
Working fine here for both links.
Hope the shocking pic i posted helps
It works very fine on my new BDX1200KE!!!!!
Thank you very much Viking61!!!!!
Tried numerous time time to click on the "Download", it keeps bringing me back to the same page.
Does it allow only download from Europe/UK ? My laptop does not have any firewall or other things installed, should be quite straight forward right ?
Will try to download again.
Thanks to viking61, managed to download the firmware finally.
Whats this Player's disc Compatability like
Click on Specifications
hi viking i meant does it play all blu rays or is it as bad as the HMV player
Sorry, my mistake.
Back to your question. I haven't heard of anyone reporting blu rays that the BDX1200 didn't play. Which ones is it that the HMV player doesn't play?
not too sure its just has i have seen forums on here saying the player wont play discs i know that for One Gnomeo and Juliet wont play on the hmv one
I had the very same problem as Fredmanson. I used the same procedure as the one you suggested to him, and everything is peachy keen. Many thanks.
It didn't take long ..
TOSHIBA BDX1200 BLU-RAY PLAYER REGION FREE FIRMWARE CD | eBay
. . . but at £5.50 delivered for the disc, it could be argued that it will be well worth it for non technical people who struggle with these things, and they do exist.
This would mean that the Region free firmware would not be release by toshiba anymore if they found out someone had monetary benefited from it.
it wouldn't have been released by them anyway, outside australia that is, where I think the law forbids region coding.
Many thanks !!!
Can anyone confirm if the BDX-3200 also works on this firmware ? Thought of getting the 3D player now.
