How does the LG compare to your PZ Panasonic (black level, clarity etc)?
This is very common for this tv when new but once its got some hours on it it becomes less apparent until eventually it doesnt really happen at all.
I certainly wouldnt worry about it too much unless its really something you absolutely cant live with which would be a shame cause once everything has settled in its actually a fantastic tv with a great picture especially bluray and ps3 games.
firmware update not working on the TV directly and online via the site too
just keeps topping out at 9mb
Updating the FW for this tv always was a faff at the best of times, there were people saying a new version was available but when connected to the net the tv would never find it and you had to keep coming back and tryin again until you did eventually get the download.
Stick with it and keep tryin, eventually you will get there with it.
tried again just now, it still tops out at 9.7mb and fails!
no one got a copy they can stick on megaupload or anything?
Just checking what the latest firmware is. I haven't had to update mine for at least 6 months. Mine is on 03.03.04.
Anyone else have an issue where after 30 seconds of being turned on the brightness rises?
Yeah, that's not an issue, that's just what it does. It takes anywhere up to a minute to 'warm up'. My 350 does it, as do the 590s. Totally normal.
Only noticed it recently, thanks
Hi, dont suppose there is a setting I missing so that the imput source changes when a new one is found - ie when I power up the ps3 the input changes tp the ps3?
Mostly delighted with mine now 13 months in
However Sky NewsHD when the sports comes on?
They horrible purple vertical bars are giving nasty IR like never before
Latest firmware version is 03.03.06. - Thanks for this Bibooo.
Strangely when I've gone back to LG's site to download this it's now back to 03.02.07.
Can anyone upload the 03.03.06 version so we can all have the latest firmware?
Random question but hope someone can help.
Those of you who have the 50" model wall mounted if you dont need the stand screws can I please have them. I cant find the ones to connect the tv to the stand anywhere in the house.
Sorry i cant help John as mines gone , were they shortish little M6 bolts x4 ?
Not sure mate.
I know the M6 were for the bracket but not sure about the stand.
Used the old grey matter and looked online at the LG PK590 manual.
There M4 x 28 screws so I ordered some from Ebay for £2 odd for 30
On the LG site it linked me to a dealer who has them at £1.80 each!
, nice 1 mate, I hope the 590 will continue to serve you well in the bedroom , Hope the VT is still okski
VT is still great
Erm... selling the PK *hides*
I've had my PK590 for about 10 months now, a very good tv, but over the past week I've noticed 3 stuck pixels when viewing under blue light. I've tried some computer programs to 're-energise' the pixels but no luck. I bought from currys online, would anybody have an idea with what I can do now? ie still under warranty will currys exchange?
unless you have the whatever happens service from currys, it'll be collected within 3-4 days and they have 28 days from time of collection to fix it or write it off and you'll get the original purchase price back.
if you have whatever happens standard, you'll get a call out guaranteed in 48hrs and they have only 21 days to fix your tv (unless its an accidental damage claim when its normally done within about 3 or 4 max)
if its WEH premier you get the 48hr callout and a timeslot to suit you, a loan tv and your TV fixed within 7 days of pickup or a new one.
thanks oliver, I'll be contacting them tomorrow when I get back from holidays, I phoned today but they need the serial number to arrange collection. I'll let u know what they say tomorrow
Currys sent round a man from the know how team and he has arranged a replacement screen to be fitted in my house, hopefully some time this week
Goodbye PK590...got £400 for it
End of an era there John , Whats on your bedroom wall now then, a 65" VT
When you 55" boys joining the 60" club then Was reading an article the other day that 3D software and hardware sales in the USA where heading downwards..... hmmmm.
Im already there mate, infact in the last 18 months ive gone from a 42 to a 50 to now a 60" screen. Im gutted though cos the way i can go better is spend ALOT more money
I think we're all more than happy with it for now though and we wont be replacing it anytime soon
Well I've finally phoned LG with regards the buzzing on mine. Will be getting a call tomorrow to arrange for an engineer to come out.
I wish. I found the paperwork out for how much I paid for the PK590 and it was only £650 so getting £400 for it was great I think.
And recent news on the Panasonic front is it looks as if there working on a fix for the FBr's.
I reckon thats a good deal , I must admit the PK was damn fine VFM ,
Thats good news for the UK FBR Fix , Maybe there is hope for Panasonic after all , I wish they would make me a 60" Micro LED Full backlit passive LCD tho
