Unsure if this is classed as stopped motion
Well it wouldn't be my first choice... geddit? first choice? ok I'll get me coat.
I would accept panning shots as stopped motion. But that's up to the theme maker to clarify, I guess
I think you should ;-)
I was unsure if panning shots fit the theme.
It's still invalid as it was taken last year
Is a photograph of somthing that is moving in any form not stopped motion in anycase?
It is afterall a still image of whatever the moving subject is

Nice pictures. I like the Royal Airforce shot with the people in it. I only have one in Flickr, fairly recent that I could think about entering if it was valid. I don't do much motion shots. But I guess for this I will have to

I didn't really understand the theme at first. I only know 'Stop Motion' as a film term so was curious to see how it relates to Still Photography. A quick google search and a flick through flickr led me to understand this shot of mine would fit into the theme.

Am I on the right track?
Your actual picture is not showing correctly, but looking on flickr I would say that's bang on theme.
I'm thinking this would be on theme for this month.
Aye, I think so too And lol, what a funny pose.. "thataway!"
One from the comp a few years ago, the theme was "Flash".

Nice, and this I think is on the thought lines for when the theme was selected.

Its not easy doing it by luck, hence I am building a trigger
Cools shots - which trigger are you building then ?
Well, the circuit I have infront of me is using a 555 with a phototransister break beam to trigger an output to an electronic switch (SCR) basicly a bistable held low untill the beam is broken.
However, whilst browsing and working on a delay circuit I found this
And thought, hang a banger, so I have a dev board on order. worth a play.
Just done a video on my blackberry, lets see if i can upload it.
This will give you an idea,

Sorry but for me the second shot here is much better than your entry - I prefer the lower angle of shooting but especially the fact that you cna actually see the ball in this shot
Cheers jim, i was going backwards and forwards between the 3 shots and just couldnt make up my mind! i knew which ever one i went for i would have some regrets as i love all 3!
I 100% agree, the ball that is frozen and the motion of the wheel I really like that.
