SourKraut - sorry, the price was hopeless this morning - only 71, and even worse this afternoon - down to 69 :(

carpeteyes - you can buy the shovel from Tom Nook's shop. If he doesn't have it, then you'll have to buy one of the other tools (axe, net, fishing rod, timer) so that there's a "Sold Out" sign - and then go back the next day when the stock has been replenished. It *may* be a shovel, but it's never a sure thing... there's one in my Tom Nook's shop, and I've got a couple of spares in a cupboard too. PM me if he wants to visit!

Chunder: Thanks for looking and posting the prices mate.
Looks like I'll have to sell at any price now before tomorrow :(

    Hi,

In case there's anyone out there at the moment, Tom Nook is buying turnips for 280 bells in my town. Unfortunately, I sold all mine this morning for 203 (I thought that was going to be his best price!).

    PM me with friend code

    Dan

    Hi all,

I'm fairly new to AC (well, I've had for about a week) but having read this thread I couldn't resist buying some turnips @ 95 bells each.
I'd be very grateful if people can post decent prices (I'd be happy with anything over 200, really) - I'll be more than happy to do the same. Really annoyinglyTom Nook was buying for 310 bells on Friday but seeing as I didn't get on it til 9pm I didn't think it was worth posting.
Slightly off topic I'd love to visit other villages regardless of turnip prices, so if anyone fancies having me over (or indeed visiting me), let me know!:smashin:

I generally play about 7pm - 9pm (not necessarily the full 2 hours  )

Just a quick turnip related question: Is it possible to store the turnips anywhere? I've got quite a few and they're taking up most of my inventory at the moment... a friend told me they spoil if you drop them in your house - is this true or is it just if they are over a week old?

Should be fine in your house. The spoil after a week regardless of where you keep them.

........they last even longer if you store them on a table in your house, i've had some for around 10 days this way :smashin:

Its a bit tricky, but I find the best way is to walk upto a table drop something infront of you - it will fall onto the floor, them drop another item and it will jump up onto the table!!

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll give the table trick a go. Just crossing my fingers that someone's gonna post a good price sometime soon... I'm getting nervous about my investment already

Thought people might find these statistics interesting - "borrowed" from the Animal Crossing Community website:

Using my experience, here is the distribution of maximum weekly turnip prices:

    650 or more: 0 weeks (out of 120 weeks = 0.0%)
    600 or more: 2 weeks (1.7%)
    550 or more: 4 weeks (3.3%)
    500 or more: 9 weeks (7.5%)
    450 or more: 13 weeks (10.8%)
    400 or more: 16 weeks (13.3%)
    350 or more: 24 weeks (20.0%)
    300 or more: 25 weeks (20.8%)
    250 or more: 33 weeks (27.5%)
    200 or more: 39 weeks (32.5%)
    150 or more: 67 weeks (55.8%)
    100 or more: 105 weeks (87.5%)
    70 or more: 120 weeks (100.0%)
    less than 70: 0 weeks (0.0%)

So, the maximum price is 200 or more about a third of the time.

Also, according to this experience, a price of 500 or more will happen about once every 13 weeks.

Using the same data, here is the distribution by "price period:"

Monday am: 20 weeks (out of 120 weeks = 16.7%)
    Monday pm: 0 weeks (0.0%)
    Tuesday am: 0 weeks (0.0%)
    Tuesday pm: 0 weeks (0.0%)
    Wednesday am: 4 weeks (3.3%)
    Wednesday pm: 17 weeks (14.2%)
    Thursday am: 20 weeks (16.7%)
    Thursday pm: 17 weeks (14.2%)
    Friday am: 14 weeks (11.7%)
    Friday pm: 15 weeks (12.5%)
    Saturday am: 10 weeks (8.3%)
    Saturday pm: 5 weeks (4.2%)

So, the maximum price occurs on Thursdays almost a third of the time.

Hope noone minds me posting all of that, I just found it fairly interesting. Still doesn't help me with my current investment - highest price I've seen so far has been 77 bells :thumbsdow

Well, Thursday has kind of delivered - price this morning 155 bells.:)

I've offloaded half of my investment and so have nearly covered my costs already. However I'm quietly confident that the price will be higher this afternoon. Unfortunately I'm at work so won't be able to offer anyone access to my village til this evening, but should the price be any higher and should anyone wish to sell their turnips at my newly developed Nookington's, they'll be more than welcome!

I'll keep you posted on the afternoon price.

    That beats my 134 bells.

Must admit that sneaking off to the canteen to play Animal Crossing for 15 minutes has been the highlight of my day so far!

I was right! My afternoon price today is 177 bells

Problem is, I'm now torn between selling the remainder of my stock or holding out for one more price rise

If anyone wants to sell at my village PM me your details and I'll send you mine. I'll be online around 7-7.30 tonight. Of course if anyone has a better price...

Sure - if you can wait until around 8.30 / 9.00. I'll post on here when I'm online - send me a PM with your details and I'll respond when I'm back home later. Nook is open until 11, so should be plenty of time to sell 'em!

    Fuggler,
Hope you don't mind, but I pm'd you too. I never can get a decent price here.

I'm not surprised that Nook lowers his head when he tells me the price

    Cheers

Oh lordy - 621 bells per turnip this morning. Only two problems:

    1. I don't have any to sell
    2. I'm at work and I don't think I'll be able to use our wireless network to connect.

    :thumbsdow

Will keep everyone posted if I manage to get on.
