Would love to see what's in that pile of pictures.
Nothing, exact same disc just in a different case.
so with the postage costs on that SE book set, does it make it worth it price wise? compared to buying the book and BD seperately? (don't want to progress and order just to see costs - can someone who has already ordered give a rough estimate on costs to the door? Ta
I have the Limited edition hardbook version with the bit of wood from the actual ORCA shipping to me right now somewhere.
The book alone was £200 with shipping and I have got the Steelbook on order as well so that will be mighty nice with the book on a display stand with the steelie at the side.
My two lads watched it at 9 and 12 and loved it. I did create a myth around it, saying it was the first blockbuster, how I was 11 when I first watched it and it freaked me out. They got what was important about it and love it to this day. I'm glad to say they appreciate films made 20 years before they were even born aren't going to be as 'slick' as films of today. They also appreciate a great film even if it's b&w and silent. Now that they're both in their teens they share my opinion on how crap most blockbuster films coming out of hollywood are and after having watched Transformers decidd not to watch any of the sequels. My job as a parent is complete.
It's a wonderful book, I got mine just before last christmas. I've got it sitting on the shelf next to The Making of Star Wars and The Making of The Empire Strikes Back. All I need is a substantial book on Indiana Jones.
Great , thanks mate can't wait for it to arrive
Why will google chrome not translate the discshop site
It wouldn't for me so I rang a mate up who's got a Swedish girlfriend and she's ordering it for me.
i believe the book on its own can be bought for less than 30 notes (Amazon) ... worth every penny IMHO.
It's saved me over £50
Indeed mate, I have both hard and soft covers right here. I was looking at the pictures that look like lobby cards.
Surely Mr Quint would not buy it again would you lol ? ... It's just a nice slip cover and a few artcards
I got my 3 Jaws fest DVD's today Mr Quint from Yana
Mate I'm in JawsFest 3, I'm on the Cape Poge Lighthouse tour with all the guys, I'm at Edgartown Dock talking about the Orca and Quints shack, also I'm on the dusk boat trip that I booked for everyone to take us out to where the Orca II scenes where shot on Katama Bay. I'm the one who does the very bad Ben Gardner impression lol. Lou was really nervous about being on the boat, he hates the water... I can't imagine why
Superb Ian I will look out for you lol .... what were you wearing ?
"I need to have something in the foreground to give it some scale"
Back on topic if you please!!!
Use code 'UNITEN' to get the UK version from Zavvi as part of their Universal promo for £13.45
Just a thought. Seems quite a few movies get a ltd cinema release during the run up to a BR release (the thing is 1 i can think of but i'm sure there's been a few).
Was too young ( 2 lol) to see this when it first hit the big screen. Would love to see it with a fresh print in a decent cinema.
Would be great to see it on the big screen.
Youre right I recall
I'm sure there have been others ....
For the last 2 years Universal have done a theatrical re-release just before the Bluray release (2010 - Back to the Future / 2011 - Jurassic Park) so here's hoping that Jaws is re-released in August sometime.
oh..that would be fantastic
Just been watching you tonight Mr Quint on jawsfest 3
The whole trip mate looked a right good session
New trailer for the Blu Ray.
its difficult to even watch the trailer without getting excited..that picture looks fantastic ...
remember im old enough to have seen this on first release in the early seventies...(although i was only 5) .. shouldn't have been allowed in really as it scared the b'jesus out of me!
im hoping for a re-release at the cinema, that would make me really happy...
I'm excited about the release but I won't have any feelings about the picture until I see it projected in my living room. Looking at Blu Ray trailers on a PC screen doesn't impress me.
I'm trying my best to keep myself under control lol.
Well I've just had my copy of Total Film delivered and on page 31 it says "with Speilberg's classic ready to glide back into cinemas". Then there are some stats about the film. Then at the bottom it says "ETA June 15th, Jaws opens this summer".
So it looks like the new transfer is going on the big screen
Edit: Just checked on Pearl and Dean and it's there as re-release for June 15th
I am finally getting to see my all time fav films on the big screen, just need Raiders to be re-released later this year and I can die a happy man
I've seen Jaws at the cinema twice. I'm more excited about it making it's premiere on my HD projector.
This is one film where I never understood the PG rating. Many (heavily cut afternoon) TV showings may have lessened its impact, but at the time it scared audiences silly. The first time I saw it at the cinema there was a woman in the audience who started shrieking everytime they cut to a shot of the ocean.
