    My first post here...

After a lot of back and forth between uber cheap and not so cheap receivers, I finally landed on a good one, I hope. Like many others, I am a complete noobie when it comes to this, but I am trying to pick up leads... Anyway... I've just ordered a Yamaha RX-V663, and now I am struggling to find out which speakers (center + surround back) and sub that'd go well with that receiver. I've got these speakers already:

    2 Dali 909
    2 Dali SS5

From what I've heard, the sound signals should match between front and center speakers, is that so?

So yeah, I need suggestions to some goodiegood surround back speakers, a center speaker and finally a nice subwoofer to go with the rest of the stuff.

As for the sub, it'd be superb if I could find a nice & cheap 12-13".

When it comes to price for the stuff, it'd be nice if the prices-range could match these prices:

    1 sub = £200-250
    1 center = £100-150
1 back = £100-150 (not sure how much these'd cost, but yeah...)

So yeah, as you already know, my budget ain't that massive, so some good and nice suggestions for those prices would be very much appricated! :)

Also, I am hoping to find a center first, then a sub and finally some surround back speakers... but some product names for all of them would goodiegood! Heh.

When that's said, I can also mention that I've looked into it already, but I'd like to have more suggestions so I've got a bigger list to choose from:

Center: Yamaha NS-C444 (a cheap and a good enough center, right?)
Sub: XTZ 99 W12 (a powerful sub for a good price)

As for surround back, I don't have any suggestions...

    So yeah, thankies in advance!

PS: Pardon if I should've asked about the subwoofer in the subwoofer-category, but I hope it doesn't matter that much...

You haven't give us as much to go on as you think you have. Apparently the Dali 909 is a pretty substantial floor standing speaker. Photos available here -

I think the big ones are the 909, the smaller ones in the middle are 606.

They look roughly the equivalent of the new Dali Concept 8 @ £649

Though since you haven't told us what size your woofers are, it's just a guess.

Consequently, the Dali Concept Center might be a good match at £150 -

For all available Dali speaker, check out HiFiBitz.co.uk -

I do think you should get a Dali center that matches as close as possible to your existing front speakers.

As for rear speakers, almost anything will do, but the Dali Concept 1 might be a good match at £179.

I have no idea what a 'Dali SS5' is, and a search of the internet turned up nothing.

Keep in mind that we can't possibly know the details of every model of every speaker ever manufactured, so a few more details on your speakers would save me the trouble of having to search the internet to find out what you are talking about. Especially in this situation where a search of Google turned up nothing.

For a sub, if you don't want a Dali then BK Electronics or SVS are good choices. But I'm here to tell you that a £200 to £250 Sub is going to have a difficult job keeping up with your Tower speakers, if indeed those are your tower speakers and depending on how big the tower woofers are. £300 and up is going to be closer to what you need.

Notice the Dali Concept Sub is £399 -

    http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/product.asp?id=5789

    So,

    Dali Concept Center - £150
    Dali Concept 1 - £179
    BK Monolith - £442

    TOTAL = £751

    Alternate Subs

    Dali Concept Sub = £399
    BK XLS200 = £289
    BK XLS300 = £389

    Just a few thoughts.
