Don't laugh but does anyone out there know where I can get a Sony G70 or G90 from, dead or alive but complete ??

Tried the well known auction site for several month but no go.

    Thanks.

I have four G70s (greedy I know but what can you do? :D ). Ranging from absolutely mint to fully running with lightly simmered tubes. What are you after (condition etc)?

I have a friend who bought two brand new in box G70's about 3-4 yrs ago, with one as a back-up. He only ever used one and the other is still sitting, brand new in the box in his storage. Can't get any minter than a chassis & tubes with 0 hours! I could make enquiries if you like?

Sorry, its taken a while to get back to you, but I have asked him to get back to me with an asking price, or register on these forums and contact you directly, in the for sale section. Should hear from either of us shortly.

Please PM me if you have a price. I'm always interested in CRT projectors. My G70VR is far from new. This new in the box G70 is appealing to me. Thanks!

PM me what you have and condition. I'd like mint/new if possible.

    and...

mother2alex probably doesn't realise that this is a UK based forum so shipping anything from Bluffton SC won't be cheap.

Why would you want a Sony G90 now, with the Dallas chip problem,
They will be in a museum next to the dinosaurs, as something that was on earth for a short time

For those who don't know, the Dallas chip is failing in the G90, possibly the G70 also. Can't be replaced as there is no stock left.

There is a thread, think it is on Curt's Forum. Found it.
A call to arms my brothers, regarding Sony. (read this!)

Better off buying, Oh No I am going to say it, Barco or the best choice, Marquee,
Ok bring on the flame suit :rotfl:

I would not touch a Sony CRT EVER, even if I was given one, I would just sell it.

    Cheers

Actually its not the Dallas chip that can't be replaced it is two other chips that are Sony proprietary chips. And they dont have any left.
