Here's another flowery IR shot from yesterday !
A few more IR shots, both inside and outside !
Shows the difference between bright well sunlit subjects and those in shade doesnt it !
flowers shots do seem to work quite well in IR
Yeah, I'm quite happy with the results, and am really looking forward to the spring leafs on the trees, in a few weeks.
It renders flowers very specially : those orchids are quite colorful but nothing of that shows in the IR pics.
A few more from outside !
I also like the way the sky is rendered
(this one is a 4-shot-vertical pano stitch in Photoshop)
love that second shot Raf
Here's a mixed bag from yesterday in the garden.
Keep em coming Raf, great work, I love those contrails ! They glow in IR
I had a fun play with this shot in LR4/NIK ColorEfex/PS
This is my favourite David. I love the striking white
Thanks Its one of my faves too.
Raf, unless you painted those colours in, that's amazing to get so much colour out of a 850nM filter !
Painted in indeed, David, there very very little color in the original pictures
Thought so Nice job.
Got out to Summer Leys today with the D70IR and managed some nice false colour shots, with mono for comparison, see Flickr pages for full sized etc.
First two shots are super David
Very nice, David !
I've done some false color as well, in LR4
(Froggy for you, Jim)
The difference is Raf, my colour was there to start with... I've never really tried this with the D70IR at 720nM as I knew I wasn't going to get much, but this I like Got to shoot in RAW to do it though, all those extra controls that you lose when in JPG !
Few more on Flickr if yer interested.
What filter do you have on your D70 in the first place, David ?
Its full time at 720nM Raf, done by Pro Camera Repair in the USA, not a bad job
Nice froggy shot Raf - great composition - ta
Loving the first shot David and the clouds are really popping in #5!
A few IRs from our cracking day out in Cambridge, yesterday All D70 720nM, most with colour, some mono. Full set at Flickr
3- Ceiling and organ of Kings College Chapel (f8, ISO1600, 1/8th handheld)
Love the first one David
Cheers, I think it's my favourite of the day too.... Need to go back to Cambridge for at least a weekend, one day plus driving is a bit much like hard work, not the least on the part of Sally, her feet wuz killing by the time we got home
Shooting in RAW (NEF) is *definitely* the way to do this !! I can get so much colour out of my 720nM D70IR I'm frankly amazed.
Wonder how these would look at 630nM ??
Frankly, the way to go is with a Full Spectrum body, and using the adequate filter in front of the lens, me thinks.
You can also do the same shot on tripod with multiple filters and obtain lovely, almost full (false) color shots !
Yeah that's OK with a compact Raf where you see the image on the LCD, but not good for the older DSLRs..... Its strictly thru the lens ...
It's fine for any camera with LiveView, I think, David, and my G1 and GH2 both have LiveView !
I would really like to have the G1 upgraded to full spectrum.
But, I don't find a service here in Europe.
