Who's selling theirs in preparation for the 3 then?

I might bung mine on eBay before the price drops further.

No, keeping my iPad 2, had it six months and don't feel that a higher resolution is going to do much for me. For a casual browsing appliance it's just top notch as it is.
Will have a look at the 3 but won't be until later in the year as I would rather sort the new phone in June July time

I'm hanging on until release. I use it everyday and it has effectively replaced my MBP which I recently sold. Also if the 3 is at a higher price point then I'll probably hang on for another year anyway.

You know that how? 4s was released in October doesn't mean the next one will

I won't be selling mine or the wife's iPad 2's before the iPad 3's are in my hand.

The price difference in selling a few weeks early, will be about £50 each at most. I'd rather hold onto them, as they are used daily. same happened with the iPad.

Sold mine after a few weeks, all the new 3 hype made me decide,I only made £25 on flea bay but at least I didn't lose so i don't mind.
I'll be getting a 32GB 3g version on pre order when its announced.
I know I'm jumping with the hype but its my 1st Apple product and I did enjoy it for the short time I owned it

Really? Thought I read that the price of the original iPad new dropped by £100 when the iPad 2 came out? I assumed that the 2 will therefore drop in price too.

They're currently going for £300 - £330 on ebay (16GB wifi only). Obviously if Apple drop the price from £400 to £300 when the 3 comes out, used prices will drop by that amount as well.

Any ideas what a 64GB 1st Gen might go for?

Have you got a private line through to Apple? All other iterations of he iPhone were released in the summer (June or July) only the 4S was released in October, and many at the time felt it was a stopgap to keep the public's tastebuds wet for something more magnificent to come.

No more than anybody else with an opinion on here.

Do you really believe Apple would release in June after an October release last year? As always, it's an educated guess over a product that doesn't even exist yet. Not meaning to come across rude or anything.

Apple have been rumoured to want to keep the October release date to separate it from other releases earlier in the year. Gives them a good spread across each quarter then, and means they won't annoy the die hard fans that just got a 4S less than 5 months ago.

Neither of us are right on this...until Apple tell us. Lets see who is closest?

Definately thinking about it - however not sure I can be without my beloved iPad 2 for a couple of weeks!

Any ideas on how quickly it will be launched after the keynote?

What is the average price given for an iPad 2 16gb wifi? The reason I ask is the recycling companies, o2 recycle etc are actually offering not bad money (around £250)

Think you'd struggle to get much more than that. £300 maybe.

That would fall in line with last years release...

However I do hope there is more to go around this time.

I was in NYC last year and on the 28th march they were still queuing outside The Apple Store for an allocation that was only a few a day.

Think I'm going to pre - order mine this time around!

Agreed. As you say, O2 are offering £245. eBay might be £300 less about £30 for charges including PayPal plus all the hassle.

    Not necessarily.

iirc, before the iPad 2 came out, the iPad was selling for £300ish second hand.

When I sold the iPad last year (after the iPad 2 was released), it went for £250 (so £50 cheaper).

Using your logic, the iPad 2 would be £300 brand new, £200 second hand. So how much would an iPad 1 be? £100?

I'd be happy to pay £150 per iPad to upgrade.

I'm just going to wait until next week and decide what I'm going to do. I use it daily, For what I use my iPad 2 for I can't see a better screen and CPU making me want to upgrade.

Sold mine this week for £375. Ipad2 wifi black 32gb. Not sure if that's a good price. It was - the smart cover so may have go£390 if I'd included it. Not sure if it's a good price but it's a healthy deposit towards the 3. Just feeling typically bereft now and hope its not too long before I can get a 3. Thought I'd sell before the market dictated too heavy a price drop.

Either sell now or wait until after the deluge has shifted. No point selling cheap as soon as 3 released if you can help it.

I am going to upgrade from the original 64G 3G to iPad3. I'm a MAC user but my wife uses the iPad every day.

How much to you think I should ask as it's in very good - used - condition?

I thought £300? Any help very much appreciated.

Someone is selling theirs here http://www.avforums.com/forums/tabl...ad-1-64gb-wifi-3g-inc-apple-case-300-inc.html

You can monitor it and see how much he sells it at the end
