Excellent news, maybe the reason for me to push over to Kinnect if it has a video camera built in

Do you know it can already do video calling?

It uses the MSN/Windows Live infrastructure, so you need a relevant address.

I've used it and it works, but being able to have a video chat with my Skype contacts (relatives in other countries mainly) will be a big plus for me.

No it's not, but I'm hoping to see it in the beta of the new dash this week.

    I'm in the beta. :smashin:

"Fall Dash Update" (or similar) I think.

You will need to be signed in with a Windows Live I.D too.

    1) You apply for the beta.
    2) You get accepted.
    3) You keep an eye on the site for further instructions.
    4) You go to a webpage that gives you a 25 digit code.
    5) You enter that code (like redeeming a Live sub code or for MS points).
    6) You download & run a program from the Marketplace that registers your console's serial details.
    7) You wait for a new "channel" to appear on the dash.
    8) You download/test/give feedback on the new dash and any problems.

The preview channel has appeared today for beta testers, the actual dash update should appear early next week.

    No.

The dash update hasn't even been sent out to the beta testers yet.

We were waiting for this "Preview Channel" to appear, which it did today.

The next step is the dash update which will appear TO THE BETA TESTERS next week!

    Yes I'm a beta tester.

The sign up was a couple of weeks ago and was closed shortly after once they got the right amount & types of testers.

    As confirmed many times already:

The official release for the update for all Xbox LIVE members will be Tuesday, December 6th. In this update, free to all console owners, you will see:

    • New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile
    • Beacons and Facebook Sharing
    • Enhanced Family Settings
    • Integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps
    • Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK and CA)

In addition to all these great dashboard features, starting on December 6th and continuing on an ongoing basis through the holiday months, a wealth of new content will be coming to Xbox 360. New, customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out from world-leading providers in more than 20 countries.

That doesn't answer the question really. It sort of hints that it won't be on the first batch on 6th but makes no mention of whether it will be forthcoming on the later roll-out.
