The PSU for my Corsair SP2200 speakers is making a weird kind of screeching noise all of a sudden. I have no idea what's causing it as they were working fine just yesterday. The actual speakers work perfectly fine, it's just the PSU that's screeching and it's a little concerning.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to stop it?

    Many Thanks

    Chris

sounds like capacitor whine or coil win, can you post a vid of it to confirm if it is then it is a new psu.

    My Specs are:
    Windows 7
    Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3
    AMD Phenom II 995
    Geil Value 4gb DDR3
    ATI Radeon HD 5850
    OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w

The speakers are Corsair SP2200 as stated above.

I've just installed a fresh copy of windows 7 on my system and the only changes have been the windows updates.

is the noise defiantly coming from that pack? bet there not cheap if that's a custom kit for the system.

ye, it took me a little while to locate the source of the noise but it's definitely coming from the speakers power pack. I just can't understand what would make it create that noise. Guess it's a case of buying a replacement. Annoying.
