There's no way to change your PSN ID unless you create a new one.

The games can still be used but you will have to keep your old account on the PS3 and if you ever needed to format etc you'd have to resign your old account in to get them again.

Game saves AFAIK are tied to your PSN ID so you'd have to start from scratch there.

You'll still be able to access your downloaded games on your new user account providing your using the same exact system. #Am not to sure about the game saves but i think you would have to copy them over to your new username. But some games you would have to start from scratch as they are locked to your original PSN ID e.g. like Burnout Paradise.

hi mate the best way to do it is.....

***before you start you will not be able to keep any online data your may have as it is locked to your current psn***

    this only takes 10mins

1, log into your current psn user account and change your email address to something else (a old email that you may use for junk)
2,go to the far right of the menu and change the name of the ps3 (user)
    eg 1234
3, now create a new user with you old name
4, go back to the 1234 user and go to the save games and click copy and copy them to the other user (the new)
5, now log back into the new user and set up a new psn user using your original email address.
6, when all this is done you can safely delete your old user on the far right hand side.

i've done this and it's really easy

Just bear in mind some save games like Burnout Paradise will only work on the PSN ID they were created with and some others, like Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, can't be copied at all.

You can copy over saved games but trophies will be lost.

Not all save games, that's why i posted ;)
Burnout Paradise simply wont work on a different PSN ID (though it can be physically copied the copy is useless to anyone but the PSN ID owner) and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 save games cannot be copied at all (except for teh PS3 backup utility that backs up the whole hard drive).

This topic I think touches on something I was planning to ask today.

I'm thinking of selling my 320GB PS3 (60GB), though as I have paid for several downloadable PSN games is there a way in which I can keep these on their and have them playable for the buyer if I remove my account?

Someone above mentioned you can change the email address of your PSN account, if this is the case then that is great . Obviously it is preferred to keep the account on the console so should it get formatted or something the buyer can re-download the games I've bought.

If anyone knows or can offer some suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated. :smashin:
