The browser seems slower and it has crashed the PS3 twice in five minutes

You're not confusing the PS3 browser with Skyrim are you. I know it's hard to tell the difference sometimes!:D

This update has put microphone monitoring into my official wireless 7.1 headset. Every time I play I can hear my own voice. I looked on Twitter and it seems people want this, BUT I do not and neither does the friend I play with.

Please, can someone tell me how to switch it off?

Updated fine for me and yep, the browser seems a little faster and loaded some problem sites easier and quicker. ie I remember my boy being upset because it wouldn't load the peppa pig website. Runs flawlessly now.

I like that it now does that! I adjusted my 'mix' levels a little and it works great.

Plus it would appear that the update now allows DropBox support

It took me a while to successfully download the update mainly due to my broadband being goosed at the moment  - if the data transfer rate went too low then my PS3 just cancelled the download and I had to start from scratch again rather than just continue where it left off... a bit annoying. I suppose I could have downloaded the update on my PC and then flashdrived it over but downloading direct to the PS3 seemed like less hassle.

The browser update is okayish - at least I can view AVForums now without all the adverts screwing up and getting in the way of the content  ... it did semi-crash on me shortly after that though - I couldn't get it to load another page so I quit out and the XMB was blank  - I tried a shutdown and it did that triple beep panic thing so something was really messed up.

I couldn't spot any other changes apart from the new T&Cs which I just skimmed over and accepted.
