    Hello everyone,

    I'm having a problem with MKV2VOB.

I've ripped one of my DVD's using MakeMKV, however when I put the MKV file into MKV2VOB I get the message "unsupported video codec: MPEG2".

I've tried it with another DVD and I still get the same message.

Does anyone know why this is, and is there a way round it?

    Many thanks

    Andy

Are you purely doing that to save on space - ripping to mkv that is..?

    Hi,

I'm just trying to backup a couple of my DVD's.

I want to be able to watch them on my PS3.

is there a way I can rip the DVD's straight to a VOB file without compressing the file?

    Thanks

    Yes, DVDShrink.

What you're doing is totally pointless. The PS3 can read .vob files (which is what DVD's contain), so you're ripping/converting/compressing/re-converting.

If space is no issue then just do a direct rip - read the Media Guide (link below).

    Hi

I've used DVDshrink a couple of times now and it's been fine, but i've just tried to copy another DVD and used the 're-author' option, but the film itself does not appear. I just get 2 folders called 'Audio_TS & Video_TS' but they are both empty. I've also downloaded AnyDVD.

Is there a way I can get round this?

    Thanks
