OK, but since you quoted me and said "never true", I thought you were commenting my comment....
the center signal is be rerouted by the PRE AMP through the fronts....... So, there is still a center, but a non fysical.
Amps: yes, the price could be the issue. I believe TAG make wonderfull stuff, almost the best on HT. But only PRE AMPS en DVD drives. Their power amps are good, really good, but not as good as their PRE AMP or DVD drive.
I have listened a lot of TAG amps, but a KRELL, ML are much better. Especially the lower frequencies. Less detaill, less controll for the TAG amps.
But, also rigth, the integration is great, really great!
I decided to make the new rack myself.
Almost finished. Takes up far less room.
I also made a new rack, allthough it isn't really a rack . I build it because my little girl her safety, she is now allmost 6 months old.
Looks very tidy, Blue-eyes. Wish I was allowed to show so much back in my lounge. I've consigned the electronics to a cabinet the same colour as the wall panelling but the speakers and stands are still black. No, they can't be buried in an Oak cabinet and the screen can't be flush-fitted with the ceiling if we're to extend the house.
hey blue eyes , how do you find those ML331,s i might be getting one ? cheers B
I like them very much, so I think you have to look further
Much, much better then TAG amps. Not saying that TAG amps are not good. They are also pretty good, but in another league
I have almost finished my work on my AV kit installation at my new home. This took me almost a month of all my free time. My definition of free time is time stolen from sleep.......
I'd like to share a few piccies.
Unfortunately, after the move a strange malfunction has occurred with the TAGtronics comms of the T32R and FLR, so, one at a time, each will go to IAG......
hmmmm that sub in the corner without TMREQ
It does have its own three band PEQ
Further, it also has a quite sophisticated and configurable crossover, which I'm fully using, running the two fronts to it, letting it do the crossover duties and sending the signal back to the 250x3R.
As I have just installed the stuff, I haven't calibrated anything, and even so the sound is awesome with no boom or overblown bass whatsoever, rather very, very nice to my ears....
I plan on getting a lunchtime to get to run Revel's own PEQ software to check things out and fiddle a bit with the Xover settings.
i can second that as i also own that cuty, but mine is black. it's a really nice sub
unfortunately hartmut talked me into letting the revels eq untouched and only fiddle with the tmreq. as a consequence i don't listen to sacd and dvd-a anymore because i can't stand the droning of the not-tmreq'ed signal
oops, forgot to tell you..
excellent work luis. really looks very nice and classy
sorry for revamping this thread, but I simply had to do it
Nice pen ,did you just get that off flea bay ?
I looked at it but the shipping was expnsive to australia
where did you get this stand? Self made? My F1-pen was only shipped in his aluminium case and F1 leather bag.
Yes, I guess that's teh only place to get it now! Great collectors item, but if you want to use it you better be quite flexible
Daniel, it is simply the part of the set.
It might be that the first series included the stand and second one haven't, but I might be wrong of course
This is my simple 2nd room stereo system built around a DPA32R-DAB .
Could not resist
Lucky guy, your wife is very kind letting you to show all your cables....
what happnd to TAG McLaren did they go bankcrupt or are they still around.
ps im not TAG owner my self.
Essentially, yes. IAG then bought the IP, stock, some staff and now still service TAG units, but they retired all the TAG gear apart from the AV30R and 700:7R, which got rebadged under the Audiolab name as the 8000AV (now discontinued) and the 8000X7. Older Audiolab products were resurfaced to complete the 2 channel range.
Such a shame that units like the T32R, DPA32R and 100x5R:10 got ditched .
that sucks. i remember going to one of the stuf live shows at earls court in the1990s TAG McLaren had a 7.1 setup and they played the jungle sounds thx ex demo.
ps what i do have is a pioneer vsx-lx60.
Just don't get us started. Some of us still pray they'll fold and the IPR will pass to a worthy owner.
Guys, there is another pen on ebay UK, item 220738733419
OK, it is obviously second generation and the guy has either no clue mumbling somethig about only 50 made or rather wants to rise up the price, but I still think someone here might get a shot at it
May I ask, how do you distinguish whether it is the first or second generation --- what are the differences?
as far as I know, first series was made for inauguration of TAG as a brand and was given to invited journalists and VIPs for free. This one included the pen and the stand. Second series was made to sell it and it was pen only.
...my old Tag setup is here...will take pictures of my new rig soon too
... and here is my old set-up.

Once the new room is complete I will post more pictures. Although it is the same kit, just had the hand of Kevin Green on it.
My current system, minus the OPPO to be purchased soon nor the 100P and other 60P resident in my cupboard for future use (quad-amping the LINNs) via the Capacitor Modded 100X4R and standard modded 100X5R
