    Hi all,
My project has been finished for a few weeks now but I've just bought a better camera, so I thought now was a good time to put up some photos. You can read all about my build by following the link in my signature.

I did everything myself, except for the carpet fitting. It took me a lot of hours but I saved quite a bit in labour costs. The room had already been converted from a garage by the previous owners, so a lot of the work was already done for me.

    Here's some photos:

With all lights off, pitch black as intended!!

Next 4 pictures are with varying lights on/off:

Wow! I am blown away by all the nice comments on here. Thank you so much.

I'll have a go at getting some more photos up very soon, with some screenshots too hopefully.

This is by far the best project I've ever undertaken. It was a lot of hard work, but as a family we absolutely love this room. The PJ is awesome. I am converting everyone who sees it to PJ's. I, like most people, had only seen PJ's in use in well lit pubs and the like. They look all washed out in that environment, but get a light controlled room and they are ace! My set up was done on the cheap to a certain extent too, for example my screen is just a painted piece of 8x4 MDF! But I'm happy with it and I can't get myself out of the room :)

The missus was a bit sceptical about me doing this job, but she is also well and truly converted, and it's now the main feature of our house.

Thanks once again to all on here, what a fabulous forum. Without the help, ideas and inspiration from the many fantastic projects on here, this wouldn't have happened. Special thanks go to KBFern for his time and effort in guiding me towards this  What that man doesn't know about PJ's ain't worth knowing!

If you are reading this forum because you are thinking of taking on a similar project, go for it. There is so much help and advice here. I saved a fortune doing everything myself and even sourcing some equipment from the classifieds here. Also, anyone local is more than welcome for a demo :smashin:

    Thanks mate.

Will post some more pics tomorrow hopefully. My kit isn't anything special though

Big Country - what do you mean "was" :)

Did you know they are back!!?? They just opened the Isle Of Wight festival, with Mike Peters from The Alarm the new lead singer. Stuart Adamson is sorely missed, but Mike is doing a brilliant job. I've seen them on tour with Mike 4 times this year. The tour went so well that they're now going to carry on and are going to record some new material

I have seen the band over 100 times, so I suppose I'm a bit biased, but they are unbelievable live. I've seen loads of bands over the years but Big Country are No.1 in my book. I just wish they'd release a Blu Ray Live Concert disc, so I could blast it out in the cinema room :D

I have a few DVD's though and they look and sound great, as close as you can get to being at the gig. I also have "Restless Natives" on DVD. If you've never seen it, check it out, it's a good film about 2 Scots lads who hold up tourist buses dressed as a clown and a wolfman, but it's the soundtrack that makes it as it's completely done by Big Country!

Are you a fan or a stalker :D Thats serious commitment to them. I said 'was' as in my youth i loved them and even have some LP's ( yes LP's not CD's ) in my loft but i'm afraid i lost touch with them with the newer stuff and never went back for a listen.
I think thats something i should try to put right, a trip to itunes me thinks :smashin:

Thank you once again all

Put a couple of videos on YouTube:

Here's a few more photos too:

ENTRANCE WITH ALL IMPORTANT CHILD-PROOF CODELOCK

Screenshot with lights on (poor contrast):

The next 3 are with all lights off:

This one is taken from the back row, you can see the light from the screen bouncing off the walls and ceiling past the Devore. It's not too bad though, especially when sat at the front:

My equipment. (The turntable is on the top shelf next to the Centre speaker, but it's well hidden by a spare bit of Devore!):

Finally, another shot of the Devore. This was taken with the flash on, that's why the ceiling looks very light. It's actually painted jet black matt, but still reflects light. The Devore is amazing, as you can see it doesn't reflect any light at all

It is seriously black!!! Expensive, but definitely worth it. We spend thousands on equipment but then feel uneasy about spending "a lot" on quality fabric like this ????

When it gives you so much more in terms of picture quality, it has got to be worth it pound for pound against other upgrades. I was definitely uneasy about spending £150 on 8 metres, but don't regret it one single bit. In fact, I would probably have bought even more in hindsight.

I believe the only place that sells proper Devore is Whaleys of Bradford. That's where I got mine. It is £13.78 a metre + VAT, P&P is £15 but I guess you could save that by going to their shop if you're up that way. This is a link to the Devore on their website:-

    Whaleys

I actually need a bit more as I'm going to make some masking strips for when I'm watching cinemascope films. saying that, the Shrek footage is in cinemascope but you can't really see the black bars that the PJ is creating. They are a little visible in real life, so I'll make up the masking strips.

    Hi mate,

    That's very kind, thanks :)

I have got to say that I'm blown away by the stunning images from the HD350

It is brilliant. Everyone that comes to see my room is also amazed at the quality of the projected image. Most of them have only ever seen washed out pictures in pubs and the like. Even I can't believe that the picture (In high def) is even better than a Plasma, LCD or LED, and it's 8 foot wide :D

The Devore isn't "expensive" to be honest if you consider it's impact on your picture quality. I wonder how much you'd have to spend on a better PJ for increased black levels, when the Devore can do this to a certain extent!
I'm beginning to sound like a salesman for Devore, which I most definitely am not!
