Nice set - looks like they were having a ball
This little girl has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism today. She's amazingly well considering her blood levels, but has a major op to come in a couple of weeks once tablets have her stabilized a little.
She looks fine - but in my experience cats show very little extrenal symptoms when unwell - hope it all works out
Nice shot - she looks very "haughty" - but of course she is a Cat
Mutchy hope your cat gets better soon.
I was playing with my 16-35 F4 VR and took a quick shot of my old cat. Click for large
wide open F4
Nice shot Grant - mono works well
I find with our two cats they are either sleeping (mostly) or way too frantic for me to capture on shot.
She is 15 so not much running around any more................ food, loo, sleep and the occasional cuddle is about it.
I suppose that helps a bit - our two are 5 (brothers) so still a bit mad
One of our two cats - Lennie - eyballing Oscar the Hamster..... or is it the other way round ?
Looks like he's trying to hibernate Craig - but surely not ?
not hibernation time, for that he goes in a box in the fridge
Its how his breed sleep, they are Russian horsfield tortoises, they can dig 1ft down to sleep at night. George only has 7" or so.
fun to watch him dig holes.
Cheers Craig - interesting
Note the smears at the top of the glass in the 2nd pic, thats where the cat sits on top and has her head, upside down staring in. Been trying to get a pic, but she moves as soon as I do. Not even a phone pic
Lovely Mike - nice processing - great eyes and great composition
+1 really like this image.
A couple of Loki today, I was mowing the lawn and he wanted to eat the grass collecting box.
LOL - nice
One of my cats - Meg!
Cracking shot - lovely and sharp - great use of DOF - lovely cat too
Cracker came through her op on Thursday. Still plenty of recovering to go, but she is doing as well as we could possibly hope.
Glad to hear she's on the mend
Mutchy - hope your wee girl makes a full recovery. One of my cats developed hyperthyroidism when she was only 9 but rather than have the operation to remove the gland I put her through the radioactive iodine treatment (I-131) which was very expensive but I was assured this was the option with the highest success level. She was in quarantine for a month and she was great afterwards but when she was about 14 the hyperthyroid symptoms returned (presumably in the other gland) and she was on Felimazole tablets for the rest of her days.
Franco, interesting to read of your experiences, thanks for taking the time to post them.
Cracker has had both sides of her thyroid removed, and her calcium level has staye good, much to my relief.
So far she is recovering very well...
Nice shot - glad to hear she's doing well
Couple of Finlay from today with the 10-17mm fisheye
Had to give my lens a wipe after this one
LOL - can't decide if he looks more like a greyhound in 1 or Santa's Little Helper
The eyes have it.

The next (not pets exactly) was taken with A700 + Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 AF 1:1 Di Macro. Has been posted before (I think)! AVF automatically reduces image size, but both can be seen via my flickr sig.
