ill be getting it come December(giving it a few months after release due to saving up) which i don't mind because (hopefully) it will show it wont be inherent of past problems, cant wait... from the problems from previous years and losses Panasonic have made , its clear, they have pulled there socks up and will be producing one of the best sets for 2012(brand new design from the floor up) , alas the peoples green splurge problem will have only made the 2012 models better..i will refrain from a giggle(im not evil!) also, if i had bought a plasma of my dreams and it green splurged i would be the first to moan and be distressed, so , lets hope(its seems they have) that they have made a beautiful performer with the 2012 model.
bdw the 65" vt is on my hit list to buy.
roll on a proper review , im expecting good things! ;)

Looked at getting the 65 myself but cannot wait plus i think when you start looking at the price/size ratio when comparing the 65vs a projector i think it make more sense for a pj.Must agree though this years pannys do look good but so did the vt30 before release so fingers crossed they will be as good as they look.:smashin:

yes but if we compare the prices of last years model and how they dropped several hundred pound by christmas.. im hoping the same this year!:smashin:
but even if i had to pay full price im not worried , ive had a panny now for ten years and it still sometimes stuns me how good the picture is.. im looking forward to seeing how far things have moved on , and besides , id never buy a projector , to much hassle setting up the viewing room and although size its going to be way bigger than the biggest mainstream plasma , its never going to shine like a plasma screen.. so 65" for me! so here's to a good future with our new plasma, and with all the great upcoming 3d title's that are being made , it also means that 3d is also finally viable as a medium in home!:D

I like the looks of the VT50 and the 50inch is tempting. Maybe even the GT50 once I get a chance to see them IRL. Will obviously be waiting for the first credible user reports/reviews and then will only buy from a store with a no questions asked returns policy.

I see Panasonic couldn't resist taking the **** with the pricing of the 65VT30.

£1600 more than the 55Inch and £1300 more than the 65ST50.
And the price diff on the 55 is only £770.
That means the tech inside is worth £770 if you buy the 55 but £1300 if you buy the 65......RIP OFF!..again.

And they're still massively cheaper in the states.

Oh those Samsung LCDs look gooooood.

I know the US price are around $79.

Hazard a guess at 79quid for the UK. Similar to the price of the 3rd gen glasses of last year.

Edit. If i head into town later i will ask my local Panasonic store.

Bigger market= lower price I guess, not many in the UK going that big. Not that I agree with that sort of difference.

Have had my first look at the VT50 this week. Was quite impressed. dynamic range looked great. also couldn't see any flicker which I'm normally quite sensitive too. I like the design They were showing rather poor content. Hope the build quality is better than last years if it is you guys will be in for a great telly.

    That's correct.
They are 69 from tps and they will do a deal if buying 2 sets for avf members for 125 Inc delivery.
My local panasonic retailer couldn't talk about prices yet as there still being sorted by his boss.

I will post back if I get any more pricing info from other retailers as and when I get it. ;)

If you google Panasonic TX-P65VT50B, quite a few places in the UK are now listing it for sale...ranging from Debenhams to Simply Electricals...all of them are listing it as being available from the 22nd March...that could be "standard" delivery times (ie x amount of working days from today) but it does seem a bit strange that there all quoting the same date.

TBH i dont know, I thought it was coming out in May. Most of the sites list it as being available with one saying its a pre-order. I expect there listing it to generate interest, I dont think it will actually be out till late April early May. I am after a 65 and will be buying from JL.

I always find the staff at my local JL very polite..but useless at knowing anything about model numbers, release dates, pricing, even when a computer is helping them, normal after waiting an age for someone to assist me.

but that 5 year guarantee always takes me back there...just need some good price matching now! after the VT50 probably...

So have panny addressed the 50hz issue in this model ??

I have been putting off a new set for the last 2 years, I'm hoping this one will blow away everyone. Then and only then can I justify getting one !

Debenhams, BHS, Woolworths etc online shops for home entertainment are all run by DirectTVs, hence why they all have the same date. Unfortunately the date is just a standard delivery date and has no bearing on when you'll actually get it. As for Simply Electricals, they constantly show things as being "in stock", but then if you actually call them to check they haven't got it in stock at all (eg the 42" ST50). Until a Panasonic Store or site like Currys, Comet, John lewis etc is showing in stock, I wouldn't get excited.

The DirectTV's prices seems pretty good IMO - worth travelling down for the £650 cashback lol
