When daily programs are recorded the series record feature limits itself to 7 days. What this means in practice is that setting a series to record a daily program say Mon thru Fri will see the feature fail to record the following week even though the program is available in the guide. The timer has to be deleted and reapplied for the following week to fix things. Not much use if you go on vacation.
Page 34 of the manual describes manually setting a program to record a daily series. The example 'Day/Date' column shows a single date however it has a range of values including Mon-Fri. When the Timer recording menu is opened the new series recording will be displayed. The 'Space' column will show a date some 30 days in the future with a sideways arrow.
This date rolls continuously forward if the recorded programs are deleted after viewing. If the programs are kept the arrowed date represents the date when the collection of recorded programs will fill the disk.
Is this lacklustre automated series recording feature a fault or an undesirable feature? The software version in use is v1.6 I wonder how many other products have a similar problem?
