Tools for the job. You wouldn't (well you might ;) ) try and QS a whole room of enemies. The 40mm grenade is just the easiest and best way to clear rooms or campers. The best player isn't the one who can do flying spinning fagtastic QS shots from across teh map. The best player is the one who can adapt their play style to the ever changing environment and pick a class/weapon that best fits the scenario and then have the skills to use all the different equipment well.

I meant that you might start the game sniping but then get killed by a sniper in a bunker. In the Kill Cam, you see a group of players in the bunker. I would re spawn with a n00b tube and lob one through the window. Then, next time I died, I'd switch back to a sniper rifle. Same thing with switching to an anti air class. Adapt to the changing game. I never mentioned the game that must not be named.

Toobing rightly has a place in the game IMO. Maps like Rundown where snipers are holed up together in huts that are very hard to get to (if the snipers are half decent anyway) are just asking for a toobing or if you see someone hiding behind a wall etc, why not blow them up? I don't get bonus points for jinking past his bullets and killing him in a more civilised manner....

    Grenades?

The problem with Tubing is that it's infectious.

One starts doing it, the guy that dies starts doing it etc etc

At some point someone breaks out the OMA, Danger Close class and the game turns to sh*t :thumbsdow

Cheap and easy – well, maybe. I would say ‘extremely effective', but then I also regard quickscoping as more of a glitch exploit – 9 times out of 10 when you look at the killcam the shot will not even be on target. I'm not really in the game to create some ‘sick moves' for Youtube I just want to kill as many of the other team as possible and the grenade launcher is well designed for that purpose.

As planetmatt said, you've gotta use the right tool for the job. I tend to have a class for each map as some maps need different strategies, and besides that, it also gets boring using the same weapons all the time.

but the killcam isn't an accurate way of showing a kill, never has been.

He's always laying on the floor out of shot when the killcam fires up.

The killcam is always from the perspective of the host, as is anything recorded in Theatre Mode. I bet if Treyarch had their time again Theatre would not have been included as it has caused them no end of trouble imho.

I played a bit of MW2 today and the lag was the worst ever but I think that can be put down to ongoing Virgin Media problems. Didn't bother me too much and actually worked in my favour when I got host though. i went 41-7 in a TDM which is about as good as it gets fo me. I don't think everybody else in the lobby enjoyed it though as they warped around the map:rolleyes:

then that surely means the kill cam is actually the correct point of view and what the person who was killed saw originally (i.e. while they was being killed) was the lagged version?

Not sure but that is the excuse Treyarch always use when anybody uses the killcam or theatre to make a point about lag.

It has been laggy since yesterday, if I'm not hosting I have a hard time finding a good game. Tonight host migration went to me and when the game returned, everyone but me had a red bar - so I did the honorable thing and ran around shooting everyone while they were frozen in suspended animation :rotfl:

The West of Scotland team we had tonight ran amok - most fun I've had for ages. Included honorary jock Kav, Dongaton and a few non- AVFers and I think we only lost one game in about 20. Sweet.

Are any AVF'ers on Machinima? I find it hard to believe with all the talent we have here that we have here that nobody isn't.

The closest anyone came was Bass' wee flit with Hutch when Reach came out, but no not to my knowledge. Schro got nearly a million views on a Portal 2 video aswell which is epic.

    Ummm,

Now do i reply in such away that i may have to face the Infraction hammer or even the ultimate ban hammer,

or do i ignore your obvious attempt to get me to post a provocative response,

or do i go for an attempted witty reply?

    decisions, decisions.....

    Because he's not worthy:smashin:

What happened, what have I missed out on? Who is Schro?

Bass was the guy that did the Booster hunting videos IIRC, so has he left?

no The Bass is still here lurking in some dark corners somewhere.

Schro is a former member of AVF who along with a few others received a permanent ban from AVF during the height of MW2. He also has made some amazing gaming vids with one of his latest ones for Portal 2 being reposted on some of the bigger gaming sites.

Edit: i see linear has posted schro's sequel but its part 1 that did the best.
