Is there a list anywhere of all HD-DVD and Blu-ray music concerts released, or can anyone name any? Thanks in advance.

My favs are Queen Rock Montreal and ACDC Live At Donnington, just a tad better music than the stuff above!!

The Dave Gilmour one is great too.

Not really a concert as such but Celine Dion "A new Day" on Blu sounds rather nice - Shut it Sunill :D

Jean michelle Jarre in China HD would be amazing and i must also admit that the Robbie Knebworth concert is also high on my priorities.

Both normally make up a late night drunken session with the missus :D

    a. Shakira - Oral fixation
    b. Destiny Child - Live in atlanta
    c. Maria Carey: advertures of mimi (don't bother to buy, such a crap!)

 again! but jokes apart, amazing vocal performance & delivery over full blown LPCM track [near 10mbps, which is the highest I've seen]

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Motörhead - Stage Fright on HD DVD is an excellent package.
Great video transfer and a good DTS MA track.
It's got a good extras package and most of all the ball busting performance from this great rock n' roll band.

Motley crue carnival of sins is a good concert too, let down buy a disapointing 1080i transfer and "meh" audio track.

I think I might get the Motorhead first just because I haven't actually got it on dvd either, but ACDC will be re-gotten.

Is that actually out/on a release schedule?

I was at the concert on the Saturday night and it was an excellent gig, also the SD DVD has one of the best soundtracks around IMO.

I know the Albert Hall gig is available, but I'd really like to add Knebworth to my collection.

Not many "concert" threads coming up in the search engine but i'll bump this one:D

Been reading a few reviews of Music BR's out and although the reviews are might impressive, I can't really get that excited about them given my music tastes.

All my fave bands were from the 70/80's and there's simply no BR material out.

We're talking superstar bands of that era though (Dire Straights/Abba/Simple Minds/Genesis(PC)/Duran Duran + many of the synth pop bands of the 80's) that sold many millions of albums.

Maybe the concert wasn't recorded on film (and therefore, a HD release aint going to happen), hell maybe the cameras were not even there:rotfl: but if they were, shirley a bit short sighted not to record something on the highest quality medium available:confused:

These are the ones that I own on Blu Ray and would recommend

    Rush - snakes and arrows
    Status Quo - Pictures
Elvis Costello - Live in Memphis
John Mayer - Where the light is
Jeff Beck - Live at Ronnie Scotts
John Mayall - 70th birthday celebrations
    Incubus - Live at redrocks
Jethro Tull - Live at Montreux
Diana Krall - Live in Rio
ZZ Top - Live in Texas

I watched the BD of Keane live at O2 Centre in London a couple of weeks ago and I thought the sound quality was the best I'd heard on Blu-ray. It was like being in the audience, very impressive.

I've just added the Foo Fighters to my Lovefilm rental list but other than this I can't see much out there on BD that I would want to get.

"The Police" Certifiable is a brilliant Blu Ray with a great 720p picture and a breathtaking Dolby True HD soundtrack.

This is also the best concert i've heard in the Subwoofer department too

Anyone seen/heard the Gary Moore tribute to Phil Lynott??? Been close to getting this for a while but wondered how good it was.

Cooney - whats the Status Quo disc like for pq/sq?? What soundtrack has it??

    My recommendations are as follows:

    Keane
    Elton 60
    The Police
    NIN
The Eagles (hd dvd) - the reason I still have an hd dvd player!!
    Queen (hd dvd)
Heart - Alive in Seattle - worth it just to hear Ann Wilson sing Alone!!
    Iron Maiden
    Dave Gilmour
Within Temptation is superb if you like that sort of music (which I do)
Shakira - looks and sounds great but not my type of music.

Not that impressed by ZZ Top/Paul Rodgers (both look and sound good but didnt grab me like a lot of others) and havent listened to AC/DC,Beyonce,Lionel Richie yet.

Nightwish is the worst one I have for pq/sq.

Also had and sold The Foo Fighters as the sq just didnt do it for me.

I have this on DVD and it is excellent. I will definitely double dip on Blu Ray.

The PQ is excellent. It is 1080i and has no motion smear (unlike Deep Purple live at Montreux!). The sound is very good and is DTS HD Master Audio and LPCM stereo. The material is good as I only really liked them up to their Rocking all over the world album. Some of the new stuff doesn't do it for me.

There is also a very good documentary which lasted about an hour and a half.

Has both PCM 5.1 and True HD tracks.
